Have you ever tried dry shampoo? Let me let you in on a little secret...dry shampoo is the best and something I use on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis. Dry shampoo is designed to be used as a "day after" spray. It dilutes excess oil in your roots and often provides a refreshing smell to give you hair the look and smell of it being freshly washed. I don't know about you, but I hate drying my hair, curling it, and doing that whole process everyday. Using a dry shampoo a couple days out of the week helps me skip those steps and still get the same results. Not to mention, it cuts down the "getting ready process" and gives you a few extra zzz's.
Now, I've tried many different dry shampoos and I can honestly say that I don't have just one that's my favorite. They either work or they don't. It's that simple. Dry Clean Only by Sebastian is one that I really like thanks to the girls at Society Salon. It's the first one that I've tried that is an actual hairspray and dry shampoo. I was a little nervous about trying it because I don't ever use hair spray on my roots. I typically like to run my fingers through my hair so the thought of spraying the top with hairspray kind of turned me off. I was wrong! This stuff is great! It doesn't have a powdery color or tint to it, but it actually makes me hair appear less ...
The Packing List | Summer Musts
With Summer here, the opportunity for little weekend getaways is definitely greater. My husband and I don't have any kids so there's little holding us back from little spontaneous road trips. Whether it's driving to a nearby city or staying at the in-laws for the weekend, I always like to be prepared. I try to keep things pretty organized when packing so it was a no brainer to use my One Truffle Clairity Pouch to hold all my essentials. This little bag is my favorite because it's completely functional (and chic). Inside my bag, I carry a few of my "Summer Musts". These include items that I use on a daily basis or here and there. Whether you tend to overpack or keep things simple, here are some products you are going to want to try this season.
Chantacaille Rice and Geranium Cleanser: I know I've written about this stuff before, but I still can't get over this cleanser. It's the absolute best of the best! You only have to use a dot (like smaller than a pea size) and it really foams up and gets off every trace of make up. I love to use it with my Clarasonic Face Brush to get a deep clean. Try it, you won't regret it!
Loreal Silky Sheer Tinted BB Cream with SPF 50+: This is a great sunscreen to have on hand when you are going to be out in the sun. It's super sheer ...
Beauty Talk | Summer Favorites
Oh sweet Summer! Most of you know that I am a full time teacher to 22 1st graders and I blog in my free time and at night. Both keep me very busy, but it's a hobby that I truly enjoy! With that being said, I am doing a little happy dance this morning while sipping my coffee and catching up on the Bachelorette as I fully enjoy my first day of Summer Break!
When I think of Summer, a few things come to mind. No school (duh!), vacations, and my favorite products that I always have on hand. Today, I will share with you some of those Summer "must haves" that get me through the season.
With the Dallas heat and humidity, my hair can be a hot mess. I have to use product in order to keep it smooth and hydrated. The Dry Bar 100 Proof Treatment Oil is a life savor. I have thick hair, but it can also be used to fine (just use a pea size amount). It can be used on wet hair before blowdrying, or on dry hair to help smooth and add shine. I use it on "next day hair" and just run a tiny amount through my ends. The smell is great and it makes my hair look freshly washed and styled. Summer is all about colors but sometimes I love the soft "chalky" nail polishes against my tanned skin. Essie is my favorite brand for polishes. I love the way the colors go on and I find this brand to stay on longer than any others that I've tried. The two colors I love for Summer are
Beauty Talk | Clarins Double Serum
Last month, I mentioned the Clarins Giveaway featuring the Double Serum and since then, I have been looking forward to this review! Thank you for all who entered by using the tag #30DaysofBeautiful on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook! It has been so fun looking through the hashtag pictures and seeing what you all posted.
Since my first post introducing the Clarins Double Serum, I have been determined to use this product daily. Even with my sensitive skin this stuff is super gentle. The serum is pretty concentrated so you only need to use one pump every morning and night. Within the first 7 days of using the Double Serum, I noticed a difference in my skins texture and appearance. My skin looks instantly hydrated and feels amazing. I tend to suffer from the occasional break out, and this stuff helped keep all of that under control. Anything that can hydrate and keep my skin clear is a winner in my book! I look forward to using more of the Clarins products in my daily skin care routine.
Dallas to Houston
I love a little weekend getaway....even if it is just a few hours away. This weekend my husband and I are driving to Houston for a friends wedding. We are excited because it will be a new change of scenery and we both have never been before. I am looking forward to brunching at Tiny Box Woods (thanks Chelsea for the recommendation!) and doing a little shopping, of course. Whether or not you have big plans this weekend, I hope you relax and enjoy! XX

Around the House | Pretty Things
I've told you all that I have been updating our home and doing a little re-decorating. I'm still wanting to get around and do a full post on our home, but this will have to do for now. With that being said, I have become addicted to coffee table books. These colorful ones caught my eye and are the perfect addition in our living room. These books not only keep me entertained and provide endless inspiration, but it makes me so happy to see stacks of them throughout our home. I also added my trust worthy Calf Hair iPhone Case, Heart Statement Necklace, and leather Blair Ritchey Pencil Pouch. This python pouch is my new favorite bag to hold my everyday essentials. You know, pink lipgloss, Chapstick, and of course Tylenol. For more pretty things see my guide below! XX
Serious Lip Care
This time of year I always deal with the most annoying problem---chapped lips. I'm sure most of you have the same issue and if you don't please tell me your secret! I have a drawer full of chapstick, lip balms, and scrubs but nothing seems to do the trick. I know this is caused by the change of weather, but I am determined to get down to the bottom of this. I have searched high and low for some reviews on "serious lip care" and found the list below to be the "best sellers". I am anxious to try the The Lip Slip and Diptyque Soothing Lip Balm, both got amazing reviews! Please let me know what works for you! XX

When it comes to clothing, Mom always taught me to focus on the quality of clothes and investing in good basics. In the past, you've heard me preach about investing in pieces that serve as staples for your wardrobe. These are the pieces that stay classic and do not fall to changing trends. And since you are making an investment in your clothing, why not also invest in your laundry care to prolong the life of your clothes? While laundry can be a daunting chore, knowing my clothes are "so fresh and so clean" makes it all worth it.
When Downy reached out to me on the release of their new Infusions + Unstopables In-Wash Scent Booster, I knew it was a brand I could trust. After all, I have used Downy for years! The combination of the Glow scent booster + the ...
