Hi everyone! As promised, here is a list of my favorite things to do in Dallas during the holiday season. I love living in the area and always feel like a tourist in my own city during Christmas. There is just so much to do!
Enjoy!! xx
1. Highland Park Village This has always been one of my favorite spots in Dallas. During the holidays they have every tree lit up with beautiful white lights. It’s so gorgeous! Each year, Austin and I have our “Christmas Date” here. The night consists of dinner at Mi Cocina followed by a coffee at Starbucks or Royal Blue Grocery (new coffee shop). Then, we drive through the neighborhoods to look at all the Christmas lights and listen to Christmas music. It's one of my very favorite traditions!
2. The Carriage Rides at Highland Park Village While you’re in Dallas, why not ride in a horse drawn carriage through the neighborhoods of Highland Park. Sit back and sip on some hot cocoa as you look at all the lights and homes decorated for the holidays! My family has done this before and it was so much fun. Be sure to make a reservation, they book up fast!
3. The Trains at Northpark This is geared towards the little ones but one ...
Fall in Dallas
Things are finally starting to cool down around Dallas and I wanted to share with your some fun things to do in the DFW area with your friends or family. I love this season for many reasons, but nothing beats this weather. Here are a few fun activities to do outside this fall:
Autumn at the Arboretum
Going to the arboretum in the Fall is one of my favorite traditions. These photo's were actually taken at the Arboretum, however, it only shows a small part of what they have to offer. From the Pumpkin Village to the rose garden, it's a fun place to go with friends or family. There are plenty of places to eat inside, but you can also bring in food or drinks. Be sure to wear flats, it's a lot of walking!
Kylde Warren Park Food Trucks
Klyde Warren Park has always been a favorite of mine. Now that the weather has cooled off, it's a great place to check out. We love the food trucks (beware, it gets very busy!) and the dog park. The food trucks are open from 11:00-3:00 and sometime stay open later. Our favorite truck is The Butcher's Son. For a full list of things to do at the park, visit here.

Project Beauty Event With Neiman Marcus
I always enjoy trying new skin and beauty products, and if you've read my blog for a while, you know that I love sharing reviews with you in my Beauty Talk series.
Last week, I picked up sone new products for Fall, in prep for the Project Beauty Event I am hosting this Thursday at Neiman Marcus in Downtown Dallas (more details below). I wanted to find some new moisturizers to incorporate into my fall/winter routine as well as some new makeup.
Just like our wardrobe, your skin care routine should also change with the season. With colder temps coming our way, skin tends to become more dry and appear dull. It's so important to hydrate all year, but especially in the upcoming season. I have used Kiehls for many years and recently got a sample of the Daily Reviving Concentrate and Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I loved it so much I wanted to get a larger size. This duo is nice for those who like to stick with the same brand for morning and night. So what do these do for your skin? The Daily Concentrate is super hydrating (but doesn't make your skin look oily) and is provides antioxidant protection. I find that it helps my makeup go on smoother and oddly ...

Holiday Events in Dallas
I love living in Dallas. I've lived here since I was 12, and each year, more and more opportunities come to Dallas to make this city even more exciting. I know a lot of you live in the area, and some of you have emailed me saying you were traveling here for the holidays. I always get asked about dining, shopping, and entertainment so I figured I'd share some of my favorite places to go while in the city for the holidays. Most of these are family friendly so feel free to bring on the kids! Happy Holidays! xx
1. Highland Park Village This has always been one of my favorite spots in Dallas. During the holidays they have every tree (more like branch) lit up with beautiful white lights. It's so gorgeous! Each year, Austin and I have our "Christmas Date" here and we hit up Mi Cocina, Starbucks then drive through the neighborhoods to look at lights and jam to Christmas tunes. While I visit the village often, this is probably my favorite date that we have and I look forward to it every year. The shopping is pretty fabulous too!
2. The Carriage Rides at Highland Park Village While you're in Dallas, why not take a festive horse drawn carriage to take you through the neighborhoods of Highland Park. Sit back and sip on some hot cocoa as you look at all the lights and homes decorated for the holidays! My family has done this before and it was so much fun ...
Do In Dallas | The Joule Hotel
Last month, Austin and I decided to treat ourselves to a little "staycation" at The Joule Hotel in Dallas. I just had finished Parent Teacher Conferences, and he just finished a big project at work so we decided we needed a little R&R. While I've stayed at the hotel before, it was only for a short bit. This time, we did things a little differently. We relaxed, had no schedule, and took time to enjoy all the amenities the hotel had to offer. It was so fun to be a tourist in our own city. We ate at new places, shopped in new stores and walked areas we've never seen. Every aspect of this hotel is unique: the rooms and the lobby are a just a few of my favorite parts that make up this cool hotel. Be sure to keep reading for the full scoop on this gorgeous downtown hotel, or head over to instagram to see pictures from our staycation!
Our first stop, was dinner at CBD Provisions. Some of our friends frequent this restaurant all the time, so we couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was about. CBD Provisions is a modern Texas brasserie located in the heart of downtown ...
West Elm Style Session
West Elm Dallas & The Teacher Diva - Workspace Style Session from West Elm Dallas on Vimeo.
Happy Tuesday everyone! I am excited to share a little project I have been working on with West Elm Dallas + Mockingbird Station. When West Elm Dallas reached out to me to share what inspires me, it was easy. My home office. It's the space where I can go and feel inspiration, creativity and oddly enough, relaxed. Not only do I use it for blogging, but I am also using it as an area to create lessons and seek inspiration in the classroom as well. Therefore it's important to me to have a space that is functional for both areas of my life.
With the help of West Elm's awesome staff and the Mockingbird Station Lofts, we were able to create a simple, yet chic, work area. I kept it simple with the Parsons Desk in white and added pops of colors through prints, florals and decorative objects like this adorable french bulldog plate (I'm obsessed!).
We want to see what inspires you for Fall and give you an opportunity for you to win a $500 West Elm Dallas ...
On My Desk with Remodo
I have always had a weakness for desk accessories and office supplies. This may not come as a surprise considering I am a teacher, but I actually get excited to buy new pens and don't even get me started on a new notepad. I recently was introduced to Remodo, an online interior design company dedicated to young adults and anyone who likes cute home goodies. Started in August 2013 by sisters Amanda and Whitney Fox, the site provides fresh, stylish options for all your home and office needs. I couldn't resist this leopard lucite tray and this blue "notes" pad...too cute!
Want to get in on all the Remodo fun? They are on their "Remodo on the Road" tour right now and their next stop is Dallas! They will be in town August 22nd-23rd and they would love for you to stop by their mobile showroom. Stop by the SMU campus during the day on Friday, August 22nd or on Saturday, August 23rd, at Dallas Contemporary in the Design District Market from 12-8pm. You can follow along via instagram with #Remodoontheroad to get all the behind the scenes details.
Visitors have the option to work with Amanda and Whitney, ask design questions, see products such as pillows, lamps, rugs, chairs, ...
Fly Wheel Summer Special
Every Summer I get really excited (yes excited) about establishing a good work out routine. During the school year I try to keep one up but I find it difficult to stay consistent and find the energy to go to the gym after teaching all day. That all changes during the Summer. During this time of year, I have that energy and motivation to hit the gym 4-5 times a week. It also helps when you actually enjoy your workout. Recently, I have tried Fly Wheel Sports. I have always enjoyed Barre classes and was pretty excited to hear about their Summer Special for new clients. I started with trying Fly Barre and then got the courage to try Fly Wheel. Whether you spin, barre or both it's an amazing workout (just get ready, it tends to bring the sweat out in people!)
Fly Wheel Sports in Plano is offering a Summer Special for new clients. From now until July 15 new clients can get 30 days at $99 for Flywheel and FlyBarre Plano classes only. Oh and the first class is free, so definitely check it out if your are interested!

M&H / Polish Fashion Show
Tonight I am excited to share with you some pictures from the Milk & Honey / Polish Fashion Show. Milk & Honey is one of my favorite Dallas boutiques and Polish is an incredible organization connecting professional women to discuss career and faith. When I heard the two were joining forces to host a fashion show, I knew it would be amazing! The night started off with gorgeous flowers by Posh Floral and delicious treats from Society Bakery. Lauren Scruggs was the fashion show emcee and did a beautiful job sharing her story and faith while presenting new trends from Milk & Honey Boutique. It was a great night of fashion, friends and fellowship!
If you're in the Dallas area, I invite you to the Polish Luncheon tomorrow from 11:45-12:45 at the Tower Club in Downtown Dallas. Co-Founder & Executive Director, Kat Armstrong, will be discussing the topic "Holding Pattern" and address the hard to answer questions such as, "Are you dating anyone?, How are you not married yet?, What do you want to do next?" She will be speaking about how to respond to the these kinds of questions. Join Wed. June 4th for practical step-by-step responses to these questions. You will ...
