Last year, thanks to you guys, I started the series Do In Dallas. This is where I feature places around Dallas that I would recommend for travelers, locals, or people who just want to see more of the city. Today, it's all about the shopping. Milk & Honey is a local boutique, nestled right in the heart of Dallas. Milk & Honey offers fashion forward clothing and accessories for all budgets, which makes finding the perfect outfit even easier. Splended + Milk & Bookies
I am excited to share an amazing opportunity to give back this holiday season. Los Angeles-based brand Splendid® is launching a nationwide holiday book drive for Milk + Bookies benefiting local Boys & Girls Clubs, December 3, 2013 through January 3, 2014 at the Splendid Store Northpark Center in Dallas.
So what is this all about? Well, in honor of the season of giving, families are encouraged to bring new or gently used books to Splendid® stores to donate to children without access to books of their own. To add to the giving-back experience, donators will be able to inscribe their donated books with a description about what they love about reading. Plus, each participant will receive an I DONATED sticker, to reinforce the amazing feeling that comes with giving to someone else.
As an added incentive, Splendid is offering each participant a free “stripe” in the brand’s popular “Earn Your Stripes” loyalty program for each book donated. Those extra-generous givers donating 5 books or more are rewarded with 50% off a single Splendid item.
Milk + BookiesTM is a nationwide charitable organization that inspires children to give back, using books as its currency. The organization facilitates opportunities for children to raise book ...
Do in Dallas | TX State Fair
It's no secret that I love the fair. Not just any fair, but the Texas State Fair. Nothing is quite like it. It's a great time of year for many reasons... 1. Fall is quickly approaching 2. Cooler weather is on the way (hopefully!) and 3. It takes me back to sweet memories with my husband. We go to the fair every year and always partake in one crazy food item and one Fletcher's Corn Dog. This year I didn't get to crazy and just went straight for the fried oreo. So good! If you are coming to the fair I recommend this site to help guide you. It gives you a detailed schedule of all the events and fills you in on all the delicious food options. My top picks- Fletcher's Corn Dogs (a must), fried oreos, bacon cinnamon rolls, fried nutella (didn't try it but everyone who did raved about it), and salt water taffy. All good for the diet of course! Happy fair days my friends!

DO IN DALLAS | Sprinkles Ice Cream
For today's "Do In Dallas" post I couldn't help but share the deliciousness known as Sprinkles Ice Cream. A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to try a taste in their new Dallas Store and it was AMAZING! Waiting in a very long line in 101 degree weather is not my idea of a good time but the reward at the end made it all the better. I typically choose boring flavors and live with a fear of regretting my ice cream decision, so I went with Chocolate Chip (and sprinkles of course). For all you daredevils out there they had a long list of fun and creative flavors such as Cap'n Crunch, and Cherry Vanilla. Best of all, served in a red velvet waffle cone. Done and done. If you live in the DFW area or are planning to make a trip out here, I definitely suggest you add Sprinkles to your "to do" list. You won't regret it, even if you are waiting in a very long line!

Poshmark Does Dallas

One year ago I married my best friend. Looking back on these pictures brings tears to my eyes. It was such a perfect day. I think about all of our family and friends who celebrated with us and it truly seems magical. This year has taught me many things. One of those being that cereal is not considered a dinner option...and the importance of organizing my 17 bottles of hair products neatly. But nonetheless, I didn't know life could be so great being married to Austin. I am so thankful for the memories this year has brought and I look forward to what year two of marriage brings for us.

Do In Dallas | Klyde Warren Park
Happy Tuesday friends! I hope your week is off to a great start....I am back to the ole job his week so I am having major withdrawals of sipping coffee, blog reading, and catching up on KKTM. When I was thinking about what to post this morning, I figured I'd brag about this amazing weather we are having down in Dallas. Side Note: We never get to have California weather so I get to be excited when I can. This past weekend the hubs and I decided to take our afternoon outside and enjoy Klyde Warren Park park in Dallas. It is literally sandwiched between a major freeway and right smack dab in the heart of Dallas. The park has a little bit of everything. A huge playground for the kiddos, a dog park for the frenchies pups, and a long line of food trucks just waiting to feed your appetites (I waiting 45 minutes just for a hot dog...worth it). Word on the street is they are even building an outdoor skating rink...so exciting for us Dallas peeps. It's no Central Park, but it suit us Dallas folk just fine.
Do In Dallas | Warby Parker Bus
Back in 8th grade I tricked my parents into thinking I needed glasses. After many days of convincing, we went to the eye doctor. As you could probably guess, I didn't do to well on my eye exam and ended up "needing" glasses. I was so pumped and thought I looked so cool...until I got massive headaches and my eyes hurt. Bummer!
Well, with all that said you could only imagine how excited I was to find out that Warby Parker was coming to Dallas. If you don't know, Warby Parker is an eyewear company that makes both prescription and non prescription glasses for only $95. They also have an amazing selection of sunglasses too! When you make a purchase they will donate a pair of glasses to someone in need. Awesome! Warby Parker is based in NYC but they are currently touring select cities in their decked out "school bus". I was so excited to hear Dallas was on their list of stops. If you live in the area...go check it out! They leave Dallas tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 27th. In the mean time, I will be sporting my new specs headache free. ...
