There's nothing quite like a week with your toes in the sand and sea salt in your hair. I wanted to share a few pictures from our family vacation last week. We stayed in a sweet little beach house right along the water. We usually travel to the Sea Side area in Florida, so this was our first time to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. The weather was great and the water was even better. (to see more of our pictures check out my instagram under #robertsonbeachbums) Until next time!

Toes in the Sand
Every now and then I can get Austin (my husband) to smile for the camera, but usually, he's the one behind it. I wanted to share a some pictures from last nights sunset shoot. We've been in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach for the last week so it was important to us to document our trip with some good ol' fashion family beach pics (those are coming later).
I really wanted to emphasize the white sand and blue sky, so we kept our outfits very cool and light. I loved wearing this White Cotton Dress and Gladiator Sandals with his Blue Shorts (on sale) and White Linen Shirt. If only we had sunsets like these in Dallas right?
On Him: White Linen Button Down | Target Flat Front Chino Shorts (on sale!) | Old Navy Faux Leather Flip Flops
On Me: White Swing Dress (Fit: runs a little big, size down! Similar version $20!) | Gladiator Sandals | Gorjana Griffin G Set Gold Rings c/o | Bauble Bar Crystal ...
Stripes by the Sea
There's nothing quite like ending the Summer than with a little time spent by the beach. The salty air, warm breeze and crashing waves all make for a relaxing vacation. When we vacation at the beach, I practically live in coverups, maxi dresses, and shorts. Comfort is a huge factor when vacationing and the less I have to think about an outfit, the better! These black lace shorts have been a favorite of mine this Summer so I knew they were the perfect solution for a night out for ice cream. I threw my hair in messy braid (humidity was on another level!) with this J Crew Striped Muscle Tee and my Panama Hat to keep the look beachy yet sophisticated for a trip to town.
Wearing: Black Lace Shorts (similar version here ) | J Crew Striped Muscle Tank (runs a little big, but I liked the look-wearing a small here) | Nixon Time Teller Watch | David Yurman Cable Bracelets | Sira Mara Citrus Glitz Bracelet c/o and
Sale Alert| Beach Favorites
Being at the beach has been wonderful. But I can't help but notice all the adorable swim wear and accessories. So much that I decided to dedicate a whole post to beach favorites...all on sale! Now that Summer is halfway over, there's really no sense on paying full price for anything. Unless, of course you have some amazing vacation coming up and it's something you just have to have. You know how that works, ha! I've rounded up some pretty great pieces that will work throughout this season and into next Summer as well. Happy shopping!

Fly Wheel Summer Special
Every Summer I get really excited (yes excited) about establishing a good work out routine. During the school year I try to keep one up but I find it difficult to stay consistent and find the energy to go to the gym after teaching all day. That all changes during the Summer. During this time of year, I have that energy and motivation to hit the gym 4-5 times a week. It also helps when you actually enjoy your workout. Recently, I have tried Fly Wheel Sports. I have always enjoyed Barre classes and was pretty excited to hear about their Summer Special for new clients. I started with trying Fly Barre and then got the courage to try Fly Wheel. Whether you spin, barre or both it's an amazing workout (just get ready, it tends to bring the sweat out in people!)
Fly Wheel Sports in Plano is offering a Summer Special for new clients. From now until July 15 new clients can get 30 days at $99 for Flywheel and FlyBarre Plano classes only. Oh and the first class is free, so definitely check it out if your are interested!

The Packing List | Summer Musts
With Summer here, the opportunity for little weekend getaways is definitely greater. My husband and I don't have any kids so there's little holding us back from little spontaneous road trips. Whether it's driving to a nearby city or staying at the in-laws for the weekend, I always like to be prepared. I try to keep things pretty organized when packing so it was a no brainer to use my One Truffle Clairity Pouch to hold all my essentials. This little bag is my favorite because it's completely functional (and chic). Inside my bag, I carry a few of my "Summer Musts". These include items that I use on a daily basis or here and there. Whether you tend to overpack or keep things simple, here are some products you are going to want to try this season.
Chantacaille Rice and Geranium Cleanser: I know I've written about this stuff before, but I still can't get over this cleanser. It's the absolute best of the best! You only have to use a dot (like smaller than a pea size) and it really foams up and gets off every trace of make up. I love to use it with my Clarasonic Face Brush to get a deep clean. Try it, you won't regret it!
Loreal Silky Sheer Tinted BB Cream with SPF 50+: This is a great sunscreen to have on hand when you are going to be out in the sun. It's super sheer ...
M&H / Polish Fashion Show
Tonight I am excited to share with you some pictures from the Milk & Honey / Polish Fashion Show. Milk & Honey is one of my favorite Dallas boutiques and Polish is an incredible organization connecting professional women to discuss career and faith. When I heard the two were joining forces to host a fashion show, I knew it would be amazing! The night started off with gorgeous flowers by Posh Floral and delicious treats from Society Bakery. Lauren Scruggs was the fashion show emcee and did a beautiful job sharing her story and faith while presenting new trends from Milk & Honey Boutique. It was a great night of fashion, friends and fellowship!
If you're in the Dallas area, I invite you to the Polish Luncheon tomorrow from 11:45-12:45 at the Tower Club in Downtown Dallas. Co-Founder & Executive Director, Kat Armstrong, will be discussing the topic "Holding Pattern" and address the hard to answer questions such as, "Are you dating anyone?, How are you not married yet?, What do you want to do next?" She will be speaking about how to respond to the these kinds of questions. Join Wed. June 4th for practical step-by-step responses to these questions. You will ...
Travel Diaries | NYC
Part two of our little get away was spent in New York City. That city is probably one of my favorite places next to San Francisco. The skyline, restaurants, boutiques...I love it all. We arrived Thursday morning ready to see everything New York had to offer. To our surprise, we scored tickets to see The Letterman Show that afternoon. We weren't expecting to see Letterman nor are we "die-hard" fans, but it was actually pretty fun! I loved getting to see behind the scenes and being a part of a live audience. I also got to see one of my favorite actors, Bryan Cranston...I am a huge Breaking Bad fan.
Friday was our true full day in the city and we were determined to see as much as possible. We started out early and walked from our hotel to breakfast where we fueled ourselves with coffee and omelets at Sarabeths's before heading to Central Park. Central Park South is one of my favorite areas. It has so many quaint restaurants nestled on the street overlooking the park. It also is right off 5th Avenue so that is always a plus. Later that night we enjoyed The Lion King on Broadway. It was awesome!
Our favorite eats included Sarabeth's for brunch, Shake Shack for a late night shake, Juniors, Amarone (the best pasta), and Magnolia Bakery. When we weren't eating, we spent our time visiting the Natural History Museum, sipping coffee in the Plaza (A limousine and a cheese pizza anyone?), and walking around Times Square. Until next time, New York!
Travel Diaries | Boston
Sorry to be a little behind on postings, I am still playing catch up after arriving home late Sunday night. As some of you may know, my husband and I took a week off and went on a little vacation to the North East. It was a nice way to celebrate our upcoming two year wedding anniversary (March 24th)! We started our trip with Boston and ended it with NYC. It was such a fun little trip. Thank you so much for your comments and suggestions regarding places to eat, see and of course shop!
During our stay in Boston, we stayed at the Ames Boston Hotel (more details coming soon!) and spent our days walking around the beautiful city. Our favorites included walking the Freedom Trail, dining in The North End (highly recommend Bacco, Bricco and Dolce Vita) and of course indulging in sweet treats from Mikes Pastry (the best canolis ever) and Modern Bakery (try their french macaroons, yum!). One of my favorite dinners was at Legal Harborside. It was ...
