Travel, in general, can be a stressful thing. Sure, we get excited about the destination or the vacation spot, but usually, there are some crazy moments involved. To keep my skin in check, I always travel with products focused on helping keep my skin hydrated and blemish free. Which we all know can be a feat traveling or not. ...
How To Pack For a Fall Getaway
The weather is cooling down and what better way to celebrate the new season like a weekend getaway? Whether you're jet setting up north or taking a road trip outside of town, it's nice to take some time and enjoy fall. ...
Packing for Christmas
This may surprise you, but I love packing. There's just something about organizing and planning my outfits that gives me a sense of relief and helps me stay sane during the stress of traveling. Austin, on the other hand, takes more of a "last minute" approach. Opposites attract, right? This Christmas, Austin and I are heading to stay with his family on Christmas Eve, then going to stay with my family for Christmas dinner. Next week, my side of the family are heading to California to surprise my Grandfather for his birthday. He is turning 80 (!) and we are so excited to fly out and celebrate him. ...
The Packing List: Charleston
When Austin and I traveled to Charleston a few weeks ago (you can read our travel guide here), we stayed at The Mills House. It was a beautiful hotel and the perfect location to walk around the city. While we were there, I got several emails and comments asking if I would share my packing essentials and suggestions. I personally, love to read "in my bag" types of posts so I am excited to share one with all of you! ...
Best Shoes for Traveling
Lately, one of the questions I've been getting asked most is "What are you favorite flats for traveling?". If you saw my snapchat in London, you may remember the Q&A I did with Austin. Like him, I also like to do my research before purchasing products for trips! With being a little tight on packing space, I wanted to make sure I got the most bang for my buck when it came to shoes.
During our trip, we walked everywhere. As much as I wanted to bring my heels and wedges, those had to stay home (the cobblestone in Europe is no joke). I rotated these shoes throughout our trip and found them to be practical, comfortable and very easy to wear with different outfits. Here are the shoes I packed for our European vacation: ...
In My Travel Beauty Bag
As promised here is a peek into my travel beauty bag. I shared a few snapchats (username: theteacherdiva) of my products during our recent trip to Europe (travel details coming soon!), but wanted to include a full post going into detail on each product. A few of you were curious about my skin care routine and miscellaneous beauty items so I was sure to go into detail on each of those. ...
Travel Beauty Must Haves
Last weekend I had the joy of getting to room with my sweet friend Katey McFarlan at our work conference. Many of you know her for her gorgeous home and adorable puppy, Peaches, but I am excited to share a fun project we worked on featuring our favorite travel must haves. ...
The Packing List | Mexico
By now I'm sure we all can agree this cold weather has got to go. Being in Dallas we haven't experienced it quite like other areas, but I sure do miss patio weather. I can't help but dream of a sitting on a beach in Mexico!
In effort to make winter more bearable, Austin and I decided to plan a little "Winter Escape" in February. I'm heading to Cabo to work on a project for The Teacher Diva, but we decided to extend the trip a couple days and make a little getaway out of it.
Just as I’ve been counting down the days until this little trip, I’ve also been planning out my packing list. The thing I love about traveling to the beach is that you really don’t need much. I try to keep my packing limited to these essentials:
SWIMWEAR
What is a trip to the beach without fabulous (and affordable) swimwear? I am in love with these suits from Modcloth. I can't get over this Pastel One-Piece Swimsuit. The colors are so beautiful and I love the way it fits (I am always a fan of a cute one-piece)! I also found this high-wasted Two-Piece that will look great with my fringed and lace coverup. Speaking of coverups, I have been looking for a white ...
In My Bag | Goyard GM Tote
Over the past few weeks Austin and I have been traveling much more than normal. From family vacations to destination weddings, it has been a very busy past couple of weeks! When I travel, I always like to take one of my biggest totes as a carryon. My Goyard GM Tote from Keeks Designer Handbags, has been a favorite of mine for travel and everyday. It's the perfect size to carry all of my essentials, especially while traveling!
Louis Vuitton Key Chain | Gigi New York 2015 Planner (2016 version here) | Goyard Pouch (comes with the bag) | Sonix iPhone Case | MAC 'Hip & Happy' Lipliner | Bobbi Brown 'Almost Nude' Lipgloss | NARS 'Claudia' Lipstick | Jo Malone 'Lime Basil and Mandarin' Perfume | FRENDS
The Packing List | Seattle
Hi Guys! I'm pretty excited to be heading off to Seattle with Austin tonight! He has a work conference there next week, and since I have an extra personal day to spend, I figured why not. I love little trips like this and can't wait to spend the next few days with him!
Seattle is truly one of my favorite cities. My husband has never been before, so I am excited to take a long weekend and explore the town together. Pikes Market is of course at the top of my list and maybe a little trip to Bainbridge Island. I would love to hear some of your suggestions! Food, shopping, places to see? I'm all ears!
As for packing, I like to keep it simple when it comes to my carry on. Give me a few magazines and a notepad to make a list and I am good to go. The OMG Bag from Lo & Sons is one of my favorite carry on's (a co-worker of mine uses this as her teacher bag and I am thinking about making the switch as well) since it fits everything so well. Like most people, I like to bring my laptop when traveling. This bag makes it worry free with the secure laptop pocket. I also like that it has plenty of storage for shoes, pens & notepads, and any other loose items I might throw in along the way.
Eek! Send me suggestions...I would love to hear them! xx
