Now that the warmer temps have found their way to Dallas, I am starting to take advantage of every opportunity to wear a dress or skirt. The 75 degree weather on Sunday was the perfect excuse to wear this Bell Sleeve Lace Dress to dinner with friends.
The cut-out-lace trend has made a huge influence in the fashion world and I am happy to share that it's in full force this Spring. We've seen this trend on tops, skirts, pants and (my favorite) dresses.
I am loving this Bell Sleeve Lace Dress from JCPenney. It's feminine, fun, and can easily be dressed up or down for the occasion. I opted to wear it with a simple pair of
Army Green & Polkadots
Happy (almost) weekend! Although, the weather has been pretty rainy in Dallas, I am looking forward to a fun filled birthday! My mom always likes to take me to breakfast on my birthday, so we are heading to Breadwinners later this morning. Austin is taking the afternoon off, so I think we will grab a late lunch and maybe go to the nail salon (he gets so embarrassed, but he loves the pedicures too!)
I wanted to share another casual look with you guys. I know I've worn this Tiered Polka Dot Tunic on here before , but it's seriously one of my favorite tops. I love this Army Green Jacket (sold out, but I linked a few similar styles below) and wear it all of the time! I really like the pop go green with the black and white pattern. I've mentioned on here before that a Army Green Jacket is one of those items that every girl needs in her closet. They can be so versatile!
PS: many of you asked about my earrings that I was wearing on snapchat [the teacher diva] last night (thanks, for your help by the way!) and I wanted to link them for those of you who wanted details
Thanks for stopping by and thank you for the birthday wishes! 29 is off to a ...
Chambray for Spring
One of the most versatile pieces in my closet has to be this Striped Chambray Shirt. It's a perfect option for spring or summer as it can be worn with so many basics you probably already own! I wore it this past weekend with these white jeans (size up), but love the look of pairing it with my favorite denim (I received many questions about Topshop sizing, so I was sure to include that at the bottom of this post).
In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Chambray, especially a classic option like this. I've always loved my tops to fit a little oversized and since this runs a little big, I loved the style. I picked this up in the Topshop section at Nordstrom, and found so many other spring and summer must haves for under $100 (linked at the bottom of the post). I also have to mention these Suede Wedges...I got them as an early birthday present and they are quite comfy. The style is so classic and I can't wait to wear these more as it warms up.
Thanks for stopping by! xx Ashley

White Embroidered Dress
There's nothing like a white dress to get you ready for spring. I loved wearing this White Embroidered Dress (now on sale with code BIGEVENT16) during our trip to Cabo San Lucas.
It was light and airy and perfect for the warmer weather. I have to mention, I love that this dress is fully lined. So often white clothing can be sheer or too thin, and this was the perfect balance. It even came with a removable slip! I wore this dress when we ate at Manta. I can't wait to wear this throughout the Summer!
On another note, if you are a new blogger (or aspiring blogger!) in the Dallas area, I want to invite you to join me at the Go!Forth Workshop on March 23rd from 6:00-8:00 PM. This event will be held at Lion & Witch (a favorite Dallas boutique) and I will be speaking and sharing tips on how to grow your brand and make the most out of your social media. I will also be answering Q & A's during the evening! Seating is limited so you will need to
Faux Fur Vest
My faux fur dreams came true when I saw this fun vest from Dawn Levy. I don't own any outwear like this, but when I saw it, I could not pass it up (especially now that it's on sale).
The details on this vest make quite the statement, so it was important for me to keep everything else pretty simple. I threw on my black leggings (these are so slimming!) and favorite suede booties (on sale) and loved how they looked with this oversized vest. I also have been wearing this Black Watch by Timex non stop. I love the idea of wearing this not only to the gym, but also with casual outfits. I always get compliments on it (and it's under $75)!
After posting this on snapchat a few weeks ago, many of you asked how I would wear it. There really are a lot of fun ways you can wear this piece. However, it is a statement, so if you don't usually wear bold pieces like this, you may want to keep everything else pretty simple. I love the idea of pairing it with distressed skinny jeans, a white ...
Day 2 NYFW
Happy Leap Year! I hope you guys are enjoying your extra 24 hrs. I wanted to share this look from Day 2 at NYFW and some more information about our stay in New York. I've recieved quite a few questions about places to eat and stay while in New York, so I wanted to be sure and address those as well.
This year, we stayed at the Conrad New York. I absolutely loved this hotel and it's beautiful view of the Hudson River. If you saw my snapchats (username: the teacher diva), you know what I'm talking about! The rooms were spacious and the service was top notch.
Many of you asked, what does a blogger do during Fashion Week? Well, there are many different things to do as a blogger/press, but I would say the main goal is to give coverage for the brand and share the new collection with your audience. Whether it's sharing a video from backstage on Snapchat or a still image captured on Instagram, it's important to share those exciting moments for the brand. I love looking at what's happening backstage or see a preview of what's to come in the next season!
During our stay, we had many meetings and showroom visits in the midst of the shows and presentaions. This makes for a very busy few days, but creates an opportunity to build some amazing relationships and meet some incredible people! We decided to use
NYFW Day 1
I am so excited to share with you a quick recap from my recent trip to NYFW and a look at my outfit for Day 1. While fashion week is exciting, February in New York is extremely cold. So planning your outfits is a little tricky, but definitely strategic. You want to be comfortable, yet "put together" and layering is a must!
I loved wearing these Radium Leggings from Carbon 38 to backstage at the Leanne Marshal show. You guys know how much I love Carbon 38 and I could not wait for these leggings to arrive in the mail just in time for me to take them on my trip. Not only are they extremely comfortable, but they have a shiny finish...almost like leather, but feel like fabric. I layered them with my favorite Ash Booties and Carbon 38 Parka over this top. It was the perfect combination for warmth and comfort. Would you judge me if I told you I wore these leggings more than once during this trip? You know how it goes when you find a pair that you love (plus they were so easy to pack)!
During our trip we were able to meet with some of my favorite brands and see a few shows and presentations. I ...
Green Silk Dress
Hi Everyone! We are heading back to Texas tomorrow and I can not wait to share with you our Cabo Travel Guide. Many of you have emailed me asking for Cabo San Lucas suggestions and I will be sure to include all of our favorite places in the post!
In the meantime, I wanted to share with you a dress I picked up at Shoshanna during Fashion Week. I absolutely love the fit and color of this dress! I really don't own many colorful items like this, so it was fun to add a bold piece to my wardrobe. While the weather is still a bit chilly in Dallas, I paired it with my black tights and Dawn Levy coat (which is on major sale). However, I can't wait to wear it with these sandals this spring. It's truly a versatile dress that is perfect to wear as we transition seasons. My sister in law is getting married in April, and I plan to wear this to one of the bridal party events. It's the perfect pop of color!

The White Romper
If there's one piece I'm loving for Spring and Summer, it's this white romper from Topshop. Usually, I have a difficult time finding rompers that are flattering and fit correctly. As much as I love them, they don't seem to look as cute on me as they do others! However, I absolutely fell in love with this one. I was a little nervous it would be sheer or see through (like most white dresses and pants tend to be) but luckily, that was not the case.
This white romper has the right amount of structure and is perfect for a dressy or casual occasion. I personally loved pairing it with these lace up heels (I know, I wear these all of the time, but they're just that good). Any time I wear a romper I always pair it with a heel to give my legs a little extra length. If you're looking for a smaller heel, these are very similar.
Topshop has so many new pieces right now for Spring and Summer, and as always, the prices are pretty affordable. I've linked some of my favorites from Nordstrom below and they are all under $100.

Striped Midi Skirt
Good morning from Mexico! Austin and I are in Cabo San Lucas for the week, and I can't wait to share with you a fun project we are working on for The Teacher Diva. The weather has been simply gorgeous and I hope to have some fun beach and Summer content for you by the end of this week [be sure to follow along via snapchat (the teacher diva) or instagram to see more from our trip]!
Until then, I am excited to share with you this girly look for Spring. I love midi skirts, and when I was teaching I wore them often! They are surprisingly so comfortable and easy to move in. Whether you have a desk job or are on your feet all day, this Striped Midi Skirt would be a perfect option. I paired this outfit with my go-to lace up heels, however I've worn it with these scalloped flats (or these lace up espadrilles) and plan to wear it with flat sandals this summer. Stripes are always a favorite of mine and this skirt was no exception.
