TGIF! I always get excited when I find something that will quickly become a staple in my closet (and happens to be under $100) . This shirt dress is one of them (see below for sizing). This is an easy look that be worn casually with flats, like these Tory Burch Espadrilles (budget friendly version here) or with a cute pair of wedges or sandals. I wanted to keep this low key so I threw on my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mab Tote and a fun panama hat and called it a day. This was a fun look for brunch last Saturday and will definitely be coming with me on our trip to Napa next month!
Have you guys shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale yet? If so I would love to know what you bought! You can see my picks from yesterday here and I also added more below.
I purchased this watch, I passed on it last year and have been regretting it since. Couldn't let it go again! I also bought these pink ...
Boho Vibes
Happy Wednesday everyone! I have been looking forward to today for the past few weeks because my team from school and I are meeting up for dinner. It's the little things, but I love my co workers and I can't wait to spend some time with them!
I wanted to share a look from last weekend. It's quickly becoming one of my favorites! This Geo Print Tunic immediately caught my eye for many reasons. One, I don't own anything like it. Typically, I tend to buy more "classic" pieces, but I couldn't help but love the fun print and colors on this top. I also wore it with white pants and it looked so soft and summery.
Don't forget the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts tomorrow for those who have the Nordstrom credit or debit card. This is my favorite sale of the year! Be sure to stop by tomorrow as I will have my favorites posted early in the AM. I will be doing a 5 part guide this year and I am excited to share designer finds, beauty finds (my favorite!) and of course things for you and him. Stay tuned and thanks for stopping by! xx

Dressing for the 4th of July
After posting this off the shoulder dress last week, I am now starting to look for more dresses and tops that offer the cold shoulder. I love the look and not to mention, they are surprisingly practical for these hot summer days.
This Navy Embroidered Dress has been worn on repeat ever since I got it in May. It has been the perfect dress to throw on for brunch, to the pool as a cover up, or just to run errands in. I can't think of a better time to wear it than Saturday! I personally don't like to wear red, white and blue all at once, so this dress is the perfect compromise for a festive look without being too over the top. Psst.. it's also a steal at $45!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! xx

Blue & White
With the 4th of July just around the corner, I have been on the hunt for what I will be wearing for an evening outside with friends and celebrating the good ole US of A. I love this Blue Blouse and if you have seen my recent instagrams, you know I have been wearing it on repeat! I am thinking this would be a great top with my white denim shorts and sandals too.
I always like to make something (easy) but festive for the 4th! I have this recipe pinned and I am also loving these ice cubes for a fun look to your drink. I've made these fruit kabobs and they are always a hit. I may stick to that and make those ice cubes. Like I said, I try to keep it easy- ha! What do you have planned for this weekend?
Summer Layers
Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a super casual look from this past weekend. I am a big fan of layers and I love that I found a thin enough shrug to wear during the summer. This Neutral Cardigan (also worn here) is a great piece to have as a way to change up any look or pair with a simple tank top like I did here (I have that tank top in 3 colors, it's my favorite). I threw on my nude pumps to dress it up a little and it was perfect for a date night to the movies.
On a totally different note, I am getting really excited about a few projects I have been working on. Both work and personal. We moved into our first house last July, and (i'm embarrassed to admit) we are finally getting around to decorating and buying furniture. I can't wait to share with you all some of the things we are doing. It terrifies me to decorate and the thought of painting makes me cringe. I guess I just feel like it's so permanent. Which is silly. Anyways, be on the lookout for some DIY projects on my snapchat (username: theteacherdiva) and some interior posts coming this summer. Please feel free to share any home decor blogs, stores, or tips below!
Thanks so much for reading! xx

Hello Monday! I hope you guys had a great weekend and are gearing up for a fun 4th of July. I wanted to share a quick instagram roundup with you guys today and share the details from a few of my snaps lately. As always, if you have any questions feel free to ask below!

The Essential T-Shirt
Over the past year, I've really started to make smart choices when it came to purchasing clothes. When looking in my closet, I realized that my "trendy" and cheaper clothes have seen better days (you know, the top that you wash once and it starts to unravel...!!!) and my classic pieces are still the ones I gravitate towards first. It's made me more aware that trends can be fun, but if I want something to last, I need to choose quality over quantity.
Recently, I was introduced to Zady, an online boutique featuring unique products hand made by artisans from all over the world. Their primary focus is to be able to provide quality and sustainable products that will last. If you go to their site, you will find leather bags, accessories for the home, and handmade jewelry, but the first thing I saw was the .02 T- Shirt.
In my opinion, there's nothing more essential in your closet than a classic white t-shirt. As much as I like to wear a silk blouse or a flirty dress, I feel most comfortable in a soft cotton tee. I like this version because ...
Printed Shorts
While Summer in Texas can be brutally hot, I still love the look of long sleeves with shorts. Obviously, they aren't for 100 degree days, but I find that I love to wear this look for dinner or if it's overcast.
These printed shorts (on sale) are one of my favorite styles to wear for summer. I like that they are a little longer and structured. They don't wrinkle easily- which is amazing! I like that they can be dressed up with a silk blouse tucked in wearing heels, or worn a little more casually seen here.
This pink knit sweater (on sale) is one that can worn all year long. It's not sheer by any means, but the material isn't as thick making it appropriate to wear during warmer months.

Pink Aviators
I have always loved my original Ray Ban Aviators, but lately, I have had my eye on these Blush Pink Mirrored Aviators. I like that they have more of a blush-gold tone and I think they go well with just about anything.
When I saw that Nordstrom had them in the original size and the large size, I decided to give them a try. I like the fit of the original ones, but the 62 mm seems to fit me best!
For me, pink has always been a neutral. Blush tones or pastels are so easy to incorporate into black, brown or other prints. These Aviators (in Pink Flash) were the perfect accessory for my striped tank top (under $30) and white pants. I am also loving the Ray Ban Highstreet Sunlasses (in Fuschia) and the Folding Wayfarer (in Fuschia)
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! xx
