While my closet consists of many colors and textures, I always seem to gravitate towards black or grey pieces. There is something about black on black that seems classic to me. When I saw this sweater from Bradamant, I knew I wanted to pair it with black bottoms (you may remember me posting about these body suits here).
I wear that blouse all the time and I know the same will be true for this sweater. But this monochromatic look required some type of texture and statement. This leather skirt was the perfect way to make this look a little more interesting and not so boring. The zippers added some edge and the necklace kept things feminine. The whole collection is amazing. I can't wait to try this bodysuit!

Holiday Dress
Now that the holidays are well on their way, it only makes sense to start looking for that perfect holiday dress. If you're like me, you probably stress when trying to find the perfect party dress. It's a busy time of year and it can be really hard trying to find something appropriate for that special occasion. However, Nordstrom has always made shopping so easy for me, so it's no surprise that I would look here for my party dress!
This Betsey Johnson fit and flare dress from Nordstrom was exactly what I was looking for. The plaid is on point for this season and the flared skirt adds the perfect touch for a holiday look. If you're on the hunt for some pretty holiday dresses, I highly suggested taking a look at Nordstrom. I am looking at getting this Blue Midi from BCBG or this Satin Shift Dress by Cynthia Steffe. What are your favorite holiday looks?

Black + White
Wearing black and white has always been a "go to" option for me. This drape vest from Chic Wish was at the top of my list for fall layers. It's super soft but light enough to wear for the days when there's just a slight chill in the air. I kept this look clean and simple for an afternoon of errands, but I love the idea of pairing this with a plaid or striped shirt to add a bold look.

Love Those Sneakers
Not going to lie, this has been a long week. And it's only Tuesday.Yikes! Nothing cheers me up than a new pair of shoes. I know you can agree with me, right? And while I usually love a new pair of pumps, I've been really wanting a pair of these casual sneakers lately. My co worker loves wearing her new balance's and I always have shoe envy when I see her rocking them with black skinnies and an oversized sweater. I am on the waitlist for these bad boys. Fingers crossed they get a restock! Which ones are you loving?

Cozy Knits
It has been the most wonderful weekend in Dallas. The weather is finally feeling like Fall and I am loving every second of it. After church on Sunday, Austin and I spent the afternoon grabbing some breakfast at Highland Park Village and then went over to the Knox Henderson area to get a new phone (for him, I wish me!) and check out some furniture.
Per usual, I was in an oversized sweater and tall boots. I threw on a blanket scarf for kicks and was shocked it was actually cold enough to keep it on the while day. Can we talk about this purse though? You may remember Kelly Wynne bags from this post last spring, and I couldn't wait to share with you this bag from her new collection. I love the gold detail over the python embossed leather! Such a fun spin on a classic black bag. You can see more of my favorites here...I have my eyes on this leopard crossbody!

Pastel Pleats
I usually don't wear a whole lot of pastels in the Fall. I typically stick to darker colors like black and greys, but I could not pass up this neutral sweater. This has to be the most practical I've worn this Fall. Dallas hasn't been to chilly during the day, but at night, the weather cools down a bit and it's nice to have on a cozy top. This little ASOS number has been at the top of my list. I mean, look at the pleats on the back. Can't get over the split back with pleated panel. It's the perfect look for day or night!

Bundled for Fall
When it comes to fall fashion, there are three staples every girl should own: a great bag, a killer pair of boots, and a quality coat.
You'd think, as a teacher, summer would be the season I look forward to most. But fall has to be one of my favorite times of the year. I love the crisp air, the spicy candles and most importantly, the fashion. This is the time of year where your outerwear is more important than the rest of your outfit.
That's where this coat comes in to play. I immediately feel in love this belted wool coat by Talbots. It's so soft! The wool makes it warm enough for those cold, windy days, but it breathes enough for when the sun is out. And this grey color goes with just about anything. After being in New York and Boston this past January, I learned (the hard way) the importance of investing in a quality coat. Find a coat that makes you feel confident and one that fits well. For me, this one exceeded my expectations. After all, a coat is probably something you will wear weekly, if not daily. I can't wait to wear this throughout Fall and Winter!

Get The Look | Minimal Chic
I don't know about you but this year, I can't help but love the look of an oversized sweater paired with more feminine pieces like a fit and flare skirt and over the knee boots. Showing a little leg can always be a little intimidating, but I have found that if I go with a flat heel, it makes me feel better about the bare legs. I invested in these boots (go a 1/2 size down) this year and I can not wait to wear them on a regular basis. Side note: in Dallas, it takes a freakishly slow time for temperatures to cool down. But Saturday night got to 68 and my sister in law and I decided to throw on the boots. Yeah, it was still a little warm. But it was the best I could do! Her boots are the ones in the picture above. They look identical to mine and a heck of a lot cheaper. ...
Plaid Tunic
I'm usually not one for brights and neons, however this Tracy Resse Tunic has me re-thinking the whole thing for Fall. I could not pass up this silky, relaxed top. I bought this tunic last week at Anthropologie and I have already worn it to work and out this past weekend. It's definitely one of those easy going shirts that you will wear through Fall and well into Winter. I can't wait to pair it with this Leather Jacket when the weather cools down!

Weekend Getaway
When it comes to traveling, weekend getaways are my favorite. They are easy to plan and usually just the right amount of time to be away. When my husband and I got married we made a goal to travel more and plan little weekend trips. I would say that we have definitely kept that a priority! Between fun trips to Boston and NYC, a few road trips to Austin,TX, and family vacations, I would say that he and I have done our fair share of traveling this year.
I've learned a lot from these trips. One thing I always remember is to dress comfortably. It's common sense, but sometimes we sacrifice comfort for style when really the two can go hand in hand. I always wear light layers when traveling. It makes temperature changes bearable and not to mention this cardigan and silk cami are so so soft! I have to wear comfortable shoes. Whether Im traveling by plane or car, my feet need to be comfy. These
