Here is one of my looks from our trip to Seattle last weekend. The weather was perfect and surprisingly warmer than Dallas. This grey hi-low sweater and pink scarf (under $15/ identical version here) were perfect for walking around downtown and exploring Pike Place Market. I love this sweater because it's very soft and a great transition piece. The color is so easy to pair with other prints or colors too!
Real quick, I wanted to ask you for some feedback. I received a few emails & comments asking about my hair when I posted this to instagram...so I want to see what you guys think too. Would you want a braid tutorial? Video or step-by-step pictures? I love getting comments and emails from all of you and many of you have requested hair and makeup tutorials. One of my goals this year is to post tutorials more often. I have received positive feedback from my Beauty Talk series, but I just wanted to check back and get your thoughts. Videos? Step-by-step pictures? None? Love to hear from you! xx

My Spring Uniform
Happy Monday! Thank so much for following along during my trip to Seattle. I loved hearing from a lot of you regarding places to see, eat and shop! My trip was short, but I tried my best to hit up each place. Seattle is awesome and I can't wait to share pictures from our trip soon.
Like most of you, I am ready for spring. I am definitely missing the patio weather, open toe-shoes, and colorful ensembles. This blue and white tunic (less than $20 // runs small, size up) was quick to catch my eye for spring. Tunics (or long tops in general) are usually on the top of my list and this one was no exception. I kept the look easy and paired it with my favorite jeans (I love the length!) and new sandals. These sandals were a find in New York and I can't wait to wear them all summer. See below for more Spring tunics for all budgets. Happy Shopping! xx

The Packing List | Seattle
Hi Guys! I'm pretty excited to be heading off to Seattle with Austin tonight! He has a work conference there next week, and since I have an extra personal day to spend, I figured why not. I love little trips like this and can't wait to spend the next few days with him!
Seattle is truly one of my favorite cities. My husband has never been before, so I am excited to take a long weekend and explore the town together. Pikes Market is of course at the top of my list and maybe a little trip to Bainbridge Island. I would love to hear some of your suggestions! Food, shopping, places to see? I'm all ears!
As for packing, I like to keep it simple when it comes to my carry on. Give me a few magazines and a notepad to make a list and I am good to go. The OMG Bag from Lo & Sons is one of my favorite carry on's (a co-worker of mine uses this as her teacher bag and I am thinking about making the switch as well) since it fits everything so well. Like most people, I like to bring my laptop when traveling. This bag makes it worry free with the secure laptop pocket. I also like that it has plenty of storage for shoes, pens & notepads, and any other loose items I might throw in along the way.
Eek! Send me suggestions...I would love to hear them! xx

I just got those sandals in the mail, and while they aren't the cheapest, they sure do make my feet look amazing! Those sunnies are also a top favorite at just under $40. Happy Shopping! xx

Mint & Stripes
I know I am not the only one who is dreaming of warmer weather. Especially today when I look out to see yet another ice day. Lately, I have been so bored with my tan and black outwear. Pastels are a huge trend right now and I am loving it. Wishful thinking that Spring in near I guess. This pink coat that I wore last month, was one of my favorites. It was a nice break from the typical winter outwear, and I have not stopped wearing it. I wanted to find another pastel color and this mint coat was perfect! It is a very unexpected color for me, but I thought it was fun and a great color for spring. Plus it's under $50! See below for more colored coats all under 50 bucks. Stay warm! xx

NYFW Recap

Happy Monday! You may have seen me tweet or snapchat last night that school is canceled today (!!!) Big news for us teachers and I know students all over North Texas are rejoicing just as much as their teachers.
I wanted to share a little recap with you from my trip to New York last week! I was so excited and humbled to get to attend fashion week last week. My short trip was busy, but exciting!
After arriving Thursday afternoon, we went straight to the Hunter Bell presentation. I was so impressed with her fall collection. Hunter was so down to earth and friendly. It was so nice getting to meet a fellow Texan in New York! Immediately following, we rushed over to meet with the Ann Taylor team. Here, we had the opportunity to see the headquarters, design studio, and check out their new Spring line. It was so exciting and every one was so friendly. I can't wait to share with you some ...
Pink & White
Happy Friday Everyone! Today I wanted to share a more "work appropriate" outfit that I plan to wear on repeat this Spring. I'm always a sucker for neutrals and this pink blouse / white pant combo was no exception. Usually, I stick with longer, oversized tops to wear with a more slimmer pant. This version by Equipment is another great blouse to have in your closet (worth every penny!)
I've always been drawn to neutral colors and I love the way they look with cognac accessories. These heels are surprisingly comfortable, but I know heels aren't for everyone. These sandals are a great alternative!

Beauty Talk
I always like when I have the opportunity to try new products. You really don't know what works best until you give it a shot right? Well, I was recently introduced to a few new products that have me hooked. The Complexion Rescue by Bare Minerals, is one of my new favorites for every day. I was actually a little apprehensive to try this, only because I usually like a little more coverage in my foundation. To my surprise, this has a really nice, medium coverage. I had a little sample that I used during my trip to New York and was amazed at how long my makeup stayed on. I loved it so much that I went to buy more last night! Studies have shown that this foundation not only acts as a moisturizer, but it improves skin hydration drastically. I also love that it has SPF 30...major plus! I also use the Bare Skin Powder to set the look.
I have never been huge fan of eyelash curlers, they scare me a little, but that all changed when I found this one by Shiseido. I have read tons of reviews and people seem to love this eyelash curler. I would never spend 20 bucks on something like this, but after reading so many positive comments, I decided to give it a try. I am so impressed! It really works ...
The Striped Tunic
Hello from New York! What an exciting week it has been. I left Thursday, for Fashion Week and have been busy busy ever since. You may have seen some of my trip on instagram or facebook. Fashion Week is always an exciting time! As my trip comes to an end, I could not be more excited to spend it with my two co-workers and best friends! They have been up here as well and I am so excited to get to spend my last couple nights in NYC with them! We will be very tired, but what a way to spend the holiday weekend am I right?! I just joined snapchat (still trying to figure it out!) but my user name is 'theteacherdiva"! Follow along and see more of NYC adventures!
P.S. Some of my favorite retailers are having some pretty good sales for President's Day. Be sure to check out Baublebar for 20% OFF (sitewide!! with code PREZ20) and Nordstrom! Happy shopping! xx

Ready for Spring
There are some things in my closet that I don't think I'll ever get rid of and this knit sweater (only $22) is one of them. This past weekend we had the nicest weather. I mean it is crazy to think that we are in February and it was 68 Degrees in Dallas. Austin and I wanted to enjoy it while we could so we spent our Saturday down in the Bishop Arts District (a must do if you are visiting Dallas!!!) and had brunch at Tillmans. The weather was perfect for some lighter layers and this outfit was the perfect get up.
Speaking of weather, I am off to New York on Thursday and it is supposed to be 12 degrees. Yikes! I am soaking up every bit of this warm weather before jet setting off to the snow and (below) freezing weather. No complaints though-- I love any excuse to go to NYC. Have a great day! xx
