Now that NYE is a couple of days away, I wanted to share a fun makeup tutorial for a night on the town. My daily routine is usually pretty simple. But since the holidays are here, I like to make for a more dramatic look. Here is a fun and simple way I like to glam up my holiday look!
I used the following products:
MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation in NC25 // Bobbi Brown Foundation Brush // Benefit Fake Up Concealer in Light // MAC Eyeshadow in Nylon // MAC Blush in Tenderling // Lorac Behind The Scenes Eyeshadow Primer // MAC Lipstick in Dangerous // Stila Liquid Eyeliner // Lancome Hypnose Mascara // Makeup Forever Mist & Fix // Anastasia Contour Kit & Brow Duo (color Taupe)
Cheers! xx

Holiday Events in Dallas
I love living in Dallas. I've lived here since I was 12, and each year, more and more opportunities come to Dallas to make this city even more exciting. I know a lot of you live in the area, and some of you have emailed me saying you were traveling here for the holidays. I always get asked about dining, shopping, and entertainment so I figured I'd share some of my favorite places to go while in the city for the holidays. Most of these are family friendly so feel free to bring on the kids! Happy Holidays! xx
1. Highland Park Village This has always been one of my favorite spots in Dallas. During the holidays they have every tree (more like branch) lit up with beautiful white lights. It's so gorgeous! Each year, Austin and I have our "Christmas Date" here and we hit up Mi Cocina, Starbucks then drive through the neighborhoods to look at lights and jam to Christmas tunes. While I visit the village often, this is probably my favorite date that we have and I look forward to it every year. The shopping is pretty fabulous too!
2. The Carriage Rides at Highland Park Village While you're in Dallas, why not take a festive horse drawn carriage to take you through the neighborhoods of Highland Park. Sit back and sip on some hot cocoa as you look at all the lights and homes decorated for the holidays! My family has done this before and it was so much fun ...
Plaid Cardigan
Tis the season for festive colors and holiday sweaters. Am I right? Now, I'm not usually one for the whole "Christmas Sweater" look, unless of course it's to a party, but I do believe there's a nice way to spice up your look to give it a "holiday" vibe. This plaid cardigan (only $23!) was the perfect compromise. I love the waterfall in the front and the length in the back. I can't wait to wear this with leggings and Uggs next to the fire tomorrow night! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Holiday Sweater
Hello, Monday! Over the weekend, Austin and I took part in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Have any of you been last minute shopping? While, fighting mall traffic is not ideal, it's all part of the experience. We had a few last minute gifts to pick up and it's the only time I can get Austin to the mall so I was not about to complain. I really do love getting out this time of year, even if it is just a few days before Christmas. Everything is so festive and the decorations are gorgeous! I am going to be posting a Dallas holiday guide soon, so be sure to check back tonight as I share my favorite things to do in the Dallas metroplex for the holidays.
This Red Sweater from Chicwish is the perfect look for the holidays. I love the fit and color. I threw on this plaid scarf (only $28) with my over the knee boots (my favorite pair, sold out in tan only black available) to give the look a more festive vibe. I am also loving this version in green!

Purple Vibes
Happy Friday! I don't know about you, but I am feeling very excited for today. Winter break is here! My students and I get start the morning off with our school spirit assembly, followed by our class winter party (and yes, Frozen will be involved), all to hear that glorious school bell ring at noon for early dismissal. To top that off, teachers get to have off campus lunch. It's the little things, right? As much as I love my job, I know all teachers (and probably the students) can agree that this is a much needed break! Austin and I aren't traveling this year, so I am looking forward to relaxing at home, finishing my Christmas shopping, and putting in some extra time for TTD. I really can't complain! TGIF

The Wrap Jacket
About a year ago, I was introduced to the sweet Morgan Hunt from A Treasure Hunt. Since then, I have enjoyed keeping in touch with her through social media and various Dallas events. I have especially loved watching Morgan launch her new clothing brand, Morgan James. Last August, I went to her fall preview and was amazed at her beautiful collection. Not only does Morgan have an eye for fashion, but each piece is proudly made in the USA!
This Wrap Jacket immediately caught my eye when I first saw her collection. It's a timeless piece, yet has a contemporary vibe with a draped front. The leather at the shoulder adds a nice touch too! Morgan doesn't want you to miss out on all the fun. She is offering all TTD readers 30% with code TEACHER30. This promo will last through 12/24. Be sure to check out her shop here!

As of Lately…
Every now and then I like to do a quick post recapping some of my past instagram pictures over the last couple of weeks. These are some of my favorites and the ones I get the most questions about size, fit, and overall quality. I wanted to address each of those under each picture. Please let me know if you have any questions and as always, feel free to shoot me an email! Be sure to follow along @theteacherdiva. Thank you! xx

Sizing can be tricky, but this vest runs true. I am wearing a small.) | Embellished Sweater (size up! Wearing a US 8, equivalent to a medium) | Crystal Statement Necklace
Embellished Sweater (see the sizing info above) | Denim (sold out, similar and similar. I have tried on both similar options and you want to size down in each. Boyfriend jeans tend to run big) | Leather Tote in the color Stone |
Gift Guide | Last Minute Shopper
Christmas is almost here, but it's not too late to buy those gifts for your loved ones. Have no shame, I know I am not the only one who isn't done with all my holiday shopping. Above I have some gifts from my top favorite retailers that promise to delivery before Christmas if you order by tomorrow, (Tuesday 12/16) and most with free shipping. Better yet, all of these are under $100, and most under $50.
My top gifts include the Urban Decay Naked on the Run Pallet. I actually purchased this when it released December 1st and have loved using it. Usually I don't like "pallets" but this one is practical and I use every part of it. J Crew is having 30% off and you can grab this Dazzling Sweater for a great price and just in time for Christmas. And last but not least, this Gold Drip Mug (only $7) is adorable and makes me want to order a whole set. Here's to getting that last minute shopping done! XX ...
A Classic Trench
Perhaps it’s the classic shape or timeless appeal, but there’s something so effortless about a trench coat. Not only is it a stylish outerwear piece, but it's one piece that can be worn from season to season. It's the definition of a closet staple.
Finding the perfect trench shouldn't be hard though. You want one that fits well, compliments your style, and makes you feel confident. After searching for "the perfect trench", I finally found one at Nordstrom and on sale! This one by MICHAEL Michael Kors was exactly what I was looking for. The best part? It is lined with removable wool interior so it's actually functional for different seasons. This is versatile piece that you can wear over a casual outfit or in the evening over elegant dress. You can't go wrong!
