My wardrobe could always use a few more prints and patterns, but there is something about simple pieces that I am drawn to. They are easy to wear, plus you can always incorporate a fun print without making it over done. Here are a few of my favorite simple items you will find in my closet.

Wrapping Inspiration
As Christmas is quickly approaching, I am reminded that I have yet to wrap all the gifts under our tree. I guess I just needed a little inspiration. Sometimes just shopping for gifts can be a monumental task, much less wrapping them attractively. As I perused through some of my usual blog reads and of course pinterest, I found that just plain brown paper with some simple techniques, is going to be my "go to look" for gift wrapping this season. I love the nostalgic look it gives under the tree. Here are some of my favorites I've come across...Enjoy!!

Gift Guide For Her
This is dedicated to those last minute shoppers. Hey, I'm one of them too (as much as I hate to admit it!) This list has a few online things that happen to still be available for Christmas delivery. Now, you may pay twice three times the price for shipping...but hey, you will get your gift. Here are a few ideas for those who are still shopping...or just like to look! Enjoy!!
1. I have to say I have had my eye on that Maya Brenner necklace. Im obsessed! Just pretty pricey so I'm not sure I am dedicated enough to get my moneys worth out of it as I tend to change my jewelry a lot. But it's still on my list! 2. NARS Nail Polish in Champagne Gold 3. YSL Concealer (AMAZING!!!!) 4.Hello Fab Diamonds and Bows Ring 5.Wish Bone 6. Bloom Theory Camera Strap 7. Stella and Dot Serenity Stone Earrings 8. Tory Burch
The Cape
The cape may be one of my favorite looks for the season. It is so comfortable and soft, how could I not be obsessed. I love the cape because unlike the shawl, it doesn't have that annoying tendency to slide off. I feel like I wear this one everywhere. I pair it with skinnies and boots but it could definitely be worn with flats. I love the feeling of being able to wrap up in this cozy sweater on these cold winter days. Not so much for Dallas considering yesterday was 70 degrees...but you get the idea. Happy Monday! Enjoy!!all imgaes via austin robertson for TTD Blog

A Day Trip
One of my favorite days in NYC was visiting Lady Liberty via Staten Island Ferry. The best part??? This little outing was a freebie! Though, it was foggy and slightly sprinkling, it was a beautiful view of the city. Did I mention we purchased statue of liberty hats? Because we did. And I must say it was the best purchase of the trip (well, one of them!) No trip to Staten Island would be complete without the proper attire. Although, the trip was a lot of fun, it was humbling in the same. To be completely honest, I was a little hesitant to visit because I figured there would still be some signs of Hurricane Sandy... and I was right. While New York has done an excellent job at cleaning up and getting things up and going, there was definite signs of damage when arriving closer to the peninsula. It was an eerie feeling walking around and seeing street lights fallen over...statues destroyed...and windows replaced with wooden panels. Our hearts go out to all of those who were affected. Here are some of my favorite pics from our Staten Island day trip...enjoy!!
New York Minute
This past weekend, I experienced such a fun weekend in Manhattan with my mom and sister-in-law. We flew out really early Friday morning and returned to Dallas late Sunday night. Goodness gracious, I love New York...such a beautiful and exciting place. These are a few of my favorite pictures from the weekend. I will post more later, but these I had to share now! Enjoy!!

Style Me Monday: Fur Vest
I must admit...I have a small obsession with faux fur vests (and if you follow my poshmark, you nowknow why I've sold two in the last month).Ha, I guess you can have only so many before people start singing the YMCA when you walk by. Regardless, there is something about a fur vestthat I just love and it is definitely on the top of my list for "winter must haves". Here's a little fur
inspiration and hope to cooler temps in Dallas...enjoy!!
