This weekend has been a blast. Although the weather has been rather wet and rainy...it brought much cooler temps and for that I am grateful!The rain did hold off for one of my favorite Fall festivals... GrapeFest. This is a Texas Tradition and we have enjoyed going for the last few years. It's not only a wine festival but also a mini carnival...which I must admit is my favorite part :)Here are a few pictures from our weekend at GrapeFest.enjoy!!

see a trend? We always go around Christmas time because we love the lights and all the festive decor.This year would have been our "year" to go however after my wedding and my brothers wedding (3 months apart...sorry Dad & Mom!) I just assumed it wasn't happening.However, to my surprise, my parents surprised me AND my new sister-in-law, Megan, with a trip this December!Mom even made these cute cards with all the things we are going to do in NYC. (I guess you could say I get my creativity from her, ha!)We are so excited to have a trip with just Mom and her two girls.It's going to be a blast!Here are some of my favorite pictures from our previous trips to the city.Enjoy!
A Story in a Home
It's that time of year where I start pulling out my seasonal decor. Ahh, I can smell all the pumpkin and autumn candles burning. My favorite.
While pre-planning where I am going to incorporate Fall, I couldn't help but notice some of the little things around our home that hold such fond memories.
Its the simple things like a new letter in place of an old one, because you get a new last name...
a display of wine corks from bottles served at your wedding...or a goodwill coffee table your husband sanded and stained in 102 degree weather. (yeah, he's pretty awesome)
These are the things I live for...they tell our story.

Easy-Cheesy Tacos
Like I've mentioned before, I really want to be a "Betty Homemaker" but let's face it...I am seriously cooking challenged! I go to the easy, basic stuff, then try to add my own spin on it to make it a little more "homemade". So here's my take on basic beef tacos.
Austin was a big fan of these bad boys. Maybe he was just being nice?..you be the judge...
enjoy!
Oopsies...forgot to include the main ingredient here...cheese!
But here they are listed:
1/2 Onion
1lb Ground Beef or Turkey
1 bag Frontera Taco Skillet Sauce
Mixed Fiesta Cheese
Cilantro & tomato {for toppings}
Black Beans
Chips & Salsa (because it wouldn't be complete with out it)
1. Chop 1/2 the onion and put it in the skillet to brown.
2. Add meet to your skillet.
By this time your house should be smellin' all kinds of delicious. Once your meet is browned go ahead and add the Texas Taco Skillet Sauce {Market Street had a few different flavors...I decided this might be the safest to experiment with first}
1st Day Jitters…
Today is the first day of school. It's this time of year where I am reminded of how truly blessed I am to have my job. It's not always easy...it definitely can be challenging, but I can truly say I have a job that I love and enjoy. I can't wait to get this year going! I hope my new friends are as excited as I am. To start off the year I made these little goody bags that were handed out at Meet the Teacher. They were a hit! I have the printable freebie HERE! ...
Don’t forget your No.2 Pencil {skirt}
Any girl knows that the first day of school meant much more than meeting your new teachers...it was finding that perfect outfit.
Sad, but true.
I remember in my school days, spending countless hours at the mall with friends searching for that right look.
While most of you reading are so past that phase of your life...you still put time and effort into your daily looks.
With the school year fast approaching, I am reminded that I will have the joy of selecting a "1st Day of School Outfit" for many years.
I mean it's an excuse to get a new outfit, right?
I put together a few looks that I think will be perfect for any "first day"or office look.
Enjoy!
