It's taken me a few weeks to get this post together, but I definitely wanted to share what I'm actually living in postpartum this time around. Since Charlie's case was different from George's and I needed to go back to the hospital (sometimes multiple times a day) to be with him, drop off milk, etc., I ended up having to actually get dressed a lot more often than I did with George. And don't get me wrong, it wasn't cute, but postpartum is raw and real and I am totally OK with that! Not to mention I was still recovering from my C-section so truly, I had to be careful with what I was wearing so that I was decently comfortable. ...

5 Ways to Style a Blazer While Expecting
It's no shocker that I love blazers. They've been a closet essential for me for about a decade now - when I was teaching, and then post-teaching styling them down with jeans, over dresses, and so on. And as Austin would say, I hoard blazers...but at least I wear them often, right? Right. ...
What to Wear + Pack for Memorial Day Weekend
While summer doesn't officially begin until June, Memorial Day weekend always seems to feel like the start to me. Right? We usually like to spend the weekend at the lake or at least at the pool, and I know a lot of y'all also have plans for the long weekend, so I wanted to curate what I'd be wearing (in years where I haven't just brought home a newborn...). ...
A Thoughtful Care Package Idea for New Moms
Once Charlie was born and we came home from the hospital, we were obviously happy to be home but also sad not to have Charlie with us (since he was still in the NICU). I was recovering from the C-section and everything that comes with delivery, and then on top of that, there were a lot of emotions with not having Charlie home, finally getting to see George again, dealing with some stuff George was going through, etc. It was a lot, not going to lie, and I know most new moms go through alllll similar emotions when first getting home. ...
What’s In My Cart
I'm back with another 'What's In My Cart' series where I curate a few things I'm eyeing. I've been living in oversized sweatshirts, so I have a couple of those on the list, plus several other comfy items and this $12 anklet. Oh, and the cutest onesie for Charlie since he gets to come home this week! ...
What I Took to the Hospital
As most of you know by now (and if you don't, head to the 'Charles' highlight on IGS if you're interested), we had Charlie much earlier than anticipated. So much so that I didn't have a hospital bag packed...or really anything ready, if I'm honest. So while I had intentions of sharing what I was packing for the hospital in my content calendar, our story didn't go that way. Instead, it was basically Austin tossing stuff in a bag for me, and then once I found out I'd be in the hospital indefinitely, a more curated packing job that I talked him through on Facetime. ...
How I Styled Maternity Staples Under $50
Since I was pregnant during similar seasons with both Charlie and George, I didn't have to (or want to) buy too many new clothes to fit the bump. First off, you really only end up wearing them for about 6-8 months, and secondly, there were only a handful of true maternity items I liked anyways - leggings, certain jeans, dresses, etc. Since I already had some of the staples needed, I was pretty particular about what I actually bought for my body during this pregnancy. And because I didn't want to spend too much more money, I really relied on places like Amazon for affordable staples that could be worn with or without a bump. I knew I'd be able to wear them while pregnant, and then again postpartum as my body recovered and was in between sizes. ...
April Top 10
Wow, what a blur April has been. Thank you all again for your support as Aus and I navigate our new normal, but I'm happy to report Charlie is doing really well! I'll share an update on George soon as well. Luckily I was able to get this month's top 10 together pretty quickly - I didn't want to skip it because there are tons of affordable Amazon finds in this one, among other crowd-favorites, that are definitely worth sharing again! ...
The 15 Peasant Dresses You Need to See
I've gotta say, the peasant trend has come at a convenient time for me. Between pregnancy and now postpartum, it's safe to say if I'm not in leggings or biker shorts, I'm in some type of flowy dress. Plus, bump or no bump, I love the effortless look that a peasant dress can give. While my style isn't necessarily boho, I tend to seek out the peasant styles that have a simple, feminine touch, without too much fabric to get lost in. I'm sharing the 15 dresses you need to see within this style, from pricier options like this beautiful pink dress to a $30 Amazon midi that I own and really like. ...
What She’d Love For Mother’s Day
With Mother's Day being just about a week away, I wanted to share a list of things I think all women in mother figure roles would appreciate - I know I would. Personally, I have this dog tag necklace on my wishlist, plus a couple smaller things I'm sharing in this post. From more budget-friendly gifts like this ribbed mug to one of my favorite skincare tools (that's on sale!) or personalized jewelry (I have and love this necklace for Geroge), there should be something for everyone on your list - or great inspo to send your guy.
Happy early Mother's Day to everyone! ...
