Here is one of my looks from our trip to Seattle last weekend. The weather was perfect and surprisingly warmer than Dallas. This grey hi-low sweater and pink scarf (under $15/ identical version here) were perfect for walking around downtown and exploring Pike Place Market. I love this sweater because it's very soft and a great transition piece. The color is so easy to pair with other prints or colors too!
Real quick, I wanted to ask you for some feedback. I received a few emails & comments asking about my hair when I posted this to instagram...so I want to see what you guys think too. Would you want a braid tutorial? Video or step-by-step pictures? I love getting comments and emails from all of you and many of you have requested hair and makeup tutorials. One of my goals this year is to post tutorials more often. I have received positive feedback from my Beauty Talk series, but I just wanted to check back and get your thoughts. Videos? Step-by-step pictures? None? Love to hear from you! xx
Mint & Stripes
I know I am not the only one who is dreaming of warmer weather. Especially today when I look out to see yet another ice day. Lately, I have been so bored with my tan and black outwear. Pastels are a huge trend right now and I am loving it. Wishful thinking that Spring in near I guess. This pink coat that I wore last month, was one of my favorites. It was a nice break from the typical winter outwear, and I have not stopped wearing it. I wanted to find another pastel color and this mint coat was perfect! It is a very unexpected color for me, but I thought it was fun and a great color for spring. Plus it's under $50! See below for more colored coats all under 50 bucks. Stay warm! xx

NYFW Recap
Watch | Scarf | Coat (size up) | Striped Top | Bracelet | Thumb Ring | Jeans
Happy Monday! You may have seen me tweet or snapchat last night that school is canceled today (!!!) Big news for us teachers and I know students all over North Texas are rejoicing just as much as their teachers.
I wanted to share a little recap with you from my trip to New York last week! I was so excited and humbled to get to attend fashion week last week. My short trip was busy, but exciting!
After arriving Thursday afternoon, we went straight to the Hunter Bell presentation. I was so impressed with her fall collection. Hunter was so down to earth and friendly. It was so nice getting to meet a fellow Texan in New York! Immediately following, we rushed over to meet with the Ann Taylor team. Here, we had the opportunity to see the headquarters, design studio, and check out their new Spring line. It was so exciting and every one was so friendly. I can't wait to share with you some ...
Blue Check Scarf
When it come to Texas weather, layers are a must. I always prepare by picking up a few new scarves before each season. This scarf (or poncho) is a deal at $35. You may have seen my instagram where I wore this to work on and just paired in with black skinnies & flats.
The pastel blue and the oversized check is such a fun pattern for spring. Despite the crazy winds, this made a great outfit for running errands and picking out some new dining room chairs (for the third time. I'm so indecisive!). Happy almost Friday! xx

Grey Knit Cardigan
We all have those days. The time when you look in your closet and you think to yourself I have nothing to wear! While that is far from true, it can be hard to find the energy to come up with a new look or try and mix and match prints. When I'm feeling this way, I reach for my favorite basic pieces. This cardigan is one that I find myself wearing all the time. Whether it's to work, running errands, or to throw on over leggings, its a wardrobe staple!

Ivory Poncho
Happy Happy Friday! Anyone have exciting plans? We are shooting for a fun, upcoming project, catching up with old friends, and Austin (my husband) is celebrating a birthday. I love birthdays and I can't wait to party it up with that guy. I am actually trying to step up my game this year and I have a few surprises planned for him. I may or may not have already told him about one. I am the worst at keeping surprises! He has sworn me to secrecy and will not let me spoil any other surprises. My lips are sealed! It should be a fun next few days.
I have been on the hunt for the perfect poncho and was so sad when this sold out right after Thanksgiving. Lucky for me, this cozy number restocked just in time for santa to put it under our tree! This poncho is probably one of my favorite tops right now. So simple, but I love the layers, texture and colors. You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you it was only $28. Crazy, right? See how I paired it with stripes here. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

Bow Tied
As I've mentioned before, my closet could always use a little more color. However, I have a hard time passing up neutrals. This Gray and White High-Low Sweater has been on my watch list for a while and it's a steal at under $30. I love this sweater! The length was perfect and it's super soft. I stepped out of my comfort zone a little and paired this bow tie to change up the look. Either way- this sweater is a closet staple.

Relationship Advice : Boyfriend Jeans
I love a great pair of jeans. Who doesn't right? But sometimes it's not easy to find the right fit, style or wash. I found a few ways that help me narrow down the search in what can seem like an overwhelming task.
For the last few months, I have been on the hunt for a great pair of boyfriend jeans. I've seen numerous Pins and styles on Instagram, that I felt like I needed to pull the trigger. I found these (size down) on sale from J Crew and loved the color and distressing. However, I was so worried about the fit. I mean, saggy jeans? Is this a thing? Before buying, I did a little research. I know, who has time for that...but I actually enjoy researching clothes and reviews before making a purchase (I got that from my husband who makes me research everything before buying. I used to be annoyed, but now, I've grown to appreciate it. ha!) Reading reviews is essential when ordering online. They can be so helpful when it comes to sizing, fit and overall quality.
It's important to find a pair of boyfriend jeans that are flattering. I've see some that are so baggy that the whole look just felt sloppy. I liked that these were more fitted, but still stood true to the "boyfriend style". I also love the distressing on the front. After receiving the jeans, I ...
Pink & Gold
If you were to peek in my closet, you would find an overwhelming assortment of creams, blacks, and stripes. Pretty boring right? Sure it's easy to mix and match, but I needed to step out of my comfort zone. While I like love neutrals, I wanted to branch out and try adding a little more color into my wardrobe. This Pink Cocoon Coat (only $45) was the perfect compromise. The texture is so soft and I love the feminine details. I could not pass up on those gold buttons! The girly pink was just what I needed to brighten up my closet. Have a great Tuesday! xx

I've ordered 5 separate times and only once did I have an issue (and that was because I didn't pay attention to the size guide-- my fault!) On The Go
Happy Monday everyone! This morning, I am off to the classroom and trying to get back in the swing of things after a nice & relaxing winter break. I say this every year, but the break always seems to fly by. It was so enjoyable though! I was able to spend some quality time with my husband (Austin) and see both of our families for the holiday. I loved every second of it!
Here, we spent some time at Highland Park Village (one of my favorite places in Dallas). This Swagg Top from Camilyn Beth is my absolute favorite. It was the perfect sweater to wear as we walked around the stores and sipped coffee on the sidewalks. I have worn it so many times (it's embarrassing) and always get asked about it. This is no doubt my favorite look for a casual day on the town.
During my time off, I was also able to dive in to some ongoing projects for The Teacher Diva. We have some exciting things happening in the next couple of months and I can't wait to share them with you. This whole blog has been a learning (and challenging) process for me (hello, education major). However, despite the challenges, I have so much fun writing and creating the content that goes in to each and every post. This has been the perfect creative outlet for me and my hope is to provide you with a little inspiration each day. Your emails, comments, and words of encouragement really do mean so much and I ...
