Things are finally starting to cool down around Dallas and I wanted to share with your some fun things to do in the DFW area with your friends or family. I love this season for many reasons, but nothing beats this weather. Here are a few fun activities to do outside this fall:
Autumn at the Arboretum
Going to the arboretum in the Fall is one of my favorite traditions. These photo’s were actually taken at the Arboretum, however, it only shows a small part of what they have to offer. From the Pumpkin Village to the rose garden, it’s a fun place to go with friends or family. There are plenty of places to eat inside, but you can also bring in food or drinks. Be sure to wear flats, it’s a lot of walking!
Kylde Warren Park Food Trucks
Klyde Warren Park has always been a favorite of mine. Now that the weather has cooled off, it’s a great place to check out. We love the food trucks (beware, it gets very busy!) and the dog park. The food trucks are open from 11:00-3:00 and sometime stay open later. Our favorite truck is The Butcher’s Son. For a full list of things to do at the park, visit here.
Sunday Brunch
Austin and I always look forward to brunch after church on Sunday. And while it’s something that we enjoy year round, this is the best time of year to take advantage of patio dining. Some of my favorite spots (with amazing patios, of course) include Ida Claire, Main Street Bakery, Odd Fellows, El Bolero and HG Supply.
The Dallas Flea
I have never experienced the Dallas Flea Market, but I’ve heard wonderful things. From what I hear, it’s a fun place to get one of a kind items. I always like to support small Dallas businesses, so I am looking forward to checking this out in a few weeks. I am on the hunt for a few more home decor items and typically these are the best places to hunt for unique mirrors and frames!
Untapped Festival
If you love craft beer and music, this one is for you. The Untapped Festival is a craft beer & music festival series that takes place in Dallas on November 7th. I have never been, but it’s wildly popular. Some of our friends have gone every year and love the atmosphere, music and of course the food and drinks. You can get more info here.
The Festival at the Switchyard
This is a free event located in Carrolton on November 7th. The festival includes food, games and live music. The event starts at 11:00 am.

Ashley, you are such an inspiration to me! Not only is your style perfectly amazing, but being a 2nd grade teacher and a lifestyle blogger, I hope to continue towards the path you have taken. I’d love to hear more about how it is going switching over to full time blogging 🙂
PS- send some of the fall weather over to Santa Barbara, CA please!
