Happy Friday friends! I am excited to finally share with you details from my recent trip to Lake Austin Spa & Resort. A couple weeks ago, I traveled with a few other Dallas bloggers, Mary, Lynsey, Tanya, Heather and Cathy. We had the best time and enjoyed every second at this resort. I’ve been to Austin several times, but this was my first trip to Lake Austin. It was absolutely beautiful!
We traveled to Austin with Vonlane (the best road trip experience I have had! Highly recommend using this bus) to stay at the resort for 2 nights 3 days. Though our trip was short, we were definitely able to enjoy the property and activities at Lake Austin Spa Resort.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you’re at the resort, the main goal is to relax and focus on health and well being. This all-inclusive resort is the perfect spot to unwind and unplug from the hustle of everyday. It truly is a luxurious experience. The property has the most beautiful views of Lake Austin and Texas Hill Country. I would recommend staying at least two nights to get the full experience!
Each package included gourmet meals and snacks throughout the day. The food is all properly portioned and made from the finest ingredients. Everything was delicious.
One of my favorite things about this resort, was the rooms. They are very similar to cottages (or bungalows) overlooking the lake and hills of Austin. They were adorable and quite cozy.
WHAT TO PACK
Since this is a Spa Resort, many people choose to walk around in a spa robe. It was actually pretty nice to not have to think about what to wear!
However, I would have a few suggestions when it comes to packing. I would definitely pack a swim suit, the pools are amazing and they have some neat water activities. I would bring a sundress or two for dinners, yoga pants, a pair of jeans and a casual top. This isn’t really a place to wear heels, so I would just pack your favorite flats. They also give you a pair of (surprisingly very comfortable) spa sandals to wear with your robe.
MUST-DO’S
I love that Lake Austin Spa & Resort has a list of several activities to choose from, all included in your stay. We made sure to check a few out while we were there!
I would recommend the Water Mat Meditation. It was so relaxing and inside the most beautiful indoor pool area. You might remember seeing photos on snapchat! I also loved the Boat Cruise. It was a fun activity to do and it was neat to see the homes on Lake Austin. We also did Pilates one morning. It was good to squeeze in a little workout while on vacation!
If you’re looking to book a spa appointment, I would recommend any facial or the Tour of Texas treatment. It was 2 hours (!!!) and included a massage, wrap and scrub. It was truly the most relaxing experience. I hope to bring Austin here one weekend for a spa getaway!

Is this the main camera you shoot/travel with? I’m looking for a smaller camera (smaller than my DSLR) that will be lighter for travel but still take great images.
