I don’t know about you guys, but Summer is on it’s way and I am in desperate need for a little color. Usually, I don’t like to spend much time in the sun and if I do I am lathered up with SPF 50+. Great for the skin, but doesn’t help me out in the tan department. Around this time, I start to bring out the self tanners and the bronzer. I do wear a little bronzer all year to add some face definition, but now is the time when I guess you could say I add a little more?
I feel like I have tried so many brands/colors and I finally found a few that seem to work well for me. My goal when looking for a bronzer is 1. No glitter or heavy shimmer (if any at all) 2. No hint of orange (my skin tends to be oily so it can turn certain bronzers orange by the end of the day…yuck!) and 3. Nothing crazy dark (I want this to look as natural as possible…duh!) Below are a few that make me pretty happy!
1. Bare Minerals Faux Tan Loose Powder– Ok, I was a little nervous to try this because the powder looks pretty dark. While I do like to wear bronzer, I have to be careful because my skin is pretty light. This worked for me because it is a matte finish. It’s not shimmery at all and isn’t as dark as it looks. You definitely want to follow the whole “swirl, tap, brush” philosophy that BM encourages to prevent it from looking too harsh. This stuff is awesome. Highly recommend!
2. Cargo Bronzer in Dark– This is another great option that has the smallest amount of shimmer. This is fun to use just on the brow bones. I like the definition it can create and the light shimmer is fun for a night out!
3. Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess in Light– This stuff is a classic. I’ve used this bronzer for years and I always go back to buy more. I like it because it’s pretty sheer yet, it’s easy to build color. It’s a great color to add all over or just on your nose or cheeks for a little glow.

I used to use the BM Faux Tan, but recently switched to the Benefit Hoola. On me, the Hoola is a more natural look (especially when I have zero color on my face in the winter months). If you haven’t tried it, you might be interested!
