Every year, I work harder to take better care of my skin. I try to do all the “necessary” things my dermatologist recommends. I drink a lot of water (I should drink more), wash my face every night before I go to bed, and always use moisturizer. However, now that I am getting closer to my 30’s, I notice my skin’s texture and appearance changing. Obviously that stuff is going to happen with age, but I am wanting to do what I can to keep my skin looking hydrated and clean. Who doesn’t right?
Since the freezing temperatures aren’t helping, I decided I needed to switch up my normal skin care routine. I usually use the Kate Somerville face wash and cream (love them) but I needed something a little more hydrating for this time of year.
My skin is combination/sensitive, so I knew this wasn’t going to be as easy. My face seems to break out with anything these days! After doing tons of research and reading many positive reviews, I decided to give the Chanel Mousse Douceur face wash and the Hydra Beauty Creme a try. These weren’t the most “budget friendly” so I was pretty skeptical at first, but after using them for a week I could already tell a difference in my skins appearance and texture.
I love the consistency of the Mousse Cleanser. It’s extremely concentrated, so you only need a small bit. See the first photo for your reference. I actually use this in combination with my clarisonic. It’s usually recommended to stick with a gel cleanser when using the clarisonic, but I love the way it foams when using a creamy cleanser. Just that little bit takes off all my makeup and keeps my skin squeaky clean and soft! Note- I do still use eye makeup remover to completely take off my eyeliner and mascara.
I follow up with just a tad of the Hydra Beauty Creme. This stuff is amazing. I highly suggest starting off with this if you are only in the market for a new moisturizer. I love how it’s not heavy, yet very hydrating. The only thing that bums me out is that it doesn’t have SPF. You definitely want to make sure you wear a foundation with SPF when wearing this during the day. Other than that, it’s been a total game changer for these colder months. What are your cold weather musts for skin care? I’d love to hear how you take care of your skin!

I have used this face wash for the past year and I have been really impressed as well. It’s a little pricey, but considering how much you get, I couldn’t pass it up! I will have to try the creme too. Thanks for sharing.
