Happy Monday! You may have seen me tweet or snapchat last night that school is canceled today (!!!) Big news for us teachers and I know students all over North Texas are rejoicing just as much as their teachers.
I wanted to share a little recap with you from my trip to New York last week! I was so excited and humbled to get to attend fashion week last week. My short trip was busy, but exciting!
After arriving Thursday afternoon, we went straight to the Hunter Bell presentation. I was so impressed with her fall collection. Hunter was so down to earth and friendly. It was so nice getting to meet a fellow Texan in New York! Immediately following, we rushed over to meet with the Ann Taylor team. Here, we had the opportunity to see the headquarters, design studio, and check out their new Spring line. It was so exciting and every one was so friendly. I can’t wait to share with you some of my latest finds from Ann Taylor in the next few weeks!
The night ended with a fun party at Elaine Turner and a late dinner at The Smith with a few friends. I am pretty sure I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was exhausted!

Day two started off with a meeting at The Outnet, a brand that I have respected for a while and it was so amazing to have the opportunity to get to meet with them. Their new launch for Iris & Ink is gorgeous! Keep your eye out for a fun collaboration coming this Spring! After our meeting, we had time to grab some brunch at Claudette. A must try for delicious salads (and fries!).

Later that day we visited the Shoshanna showroom and checked out their newest collection. The prints were so fun and colorful! I can’t wait to wear some of these in the next few months. My favorite part of the day was probably heading over to the Bare Minerals Flagship store in Soho. You guys know how much I love makeup and skin care products! I used Bare Minerals back in high school but haven’t used it much since. i was so excited to try the Complexion Rescue and immediately fell in love. The coverage is amazing and I loved how it made my skin look (see review here). After getting a little touch up with Bare Minerals, we set off to French Connection for a little shopping and dinner party.
Day three, started off with brunch at Park Hyatt Hotel. The food at The Back Room at One57 was delicious! After our meal, we set off to the Mara Hoffman Show. The show was amazing. It’s really incredible all the detail that goes into each show. I loved all of the colorful patterns and the hair. Each model had an intense braid– so cool!
Day four, I was excited to meet up with some of my teacher friends from school. It was so fun that they were in NYC during the time I was there. We went to Sarabeth’s for brunch followed by a little shopping. Jen and Jess are two amazing teachers and great friends. I love them both and was so happy to spend my last couple days in the city with them!
