After posting this picture to my instagram account, it was clear that many of you have been looking for a lightweight tinted moisturizer or are interested in a good summer makeup routine. Like most of you, I tend to lay off the heavy makeup during the summer months. Don’t get me wrong, I wear it, just a lighter version than normal and it’s usually packed with high SPF.
These are the products you will find in my makeup bag. Unless it’s date night or a special occasion, I like to keep it easy and quick. A lightweight tinted moisturizer, eyeliner, mascara and a few other products seem to do the trick during the summer months.
Side note: for those who are trying to grow out your brows, I have been using Castor Oil for the past month and a half and I have seen a huge difference. It took some patience, but recently, I have been noticing more “fullness” to my brows. Highly recommend!
.01 Kiehl’s Tinted BB Cream: I stumbled upon this product after researching tinted moisturizers for our summer and our upcoming trips. I didn’t want to wear makeup to the beach, but I did want something with a little tint and a high SPF. When I got this in the mail, I immediately tried it and realized that it could be used more than just on vacation. It would make a great daily cream and still give me a little coverage. I have used this product for the past 2 weeks and have been really happy with it. My skin tends to be on the sensitive side, and this hasn’t caused any breakouts and keeps my skin healthy. I love it!
.02 BareMinerals Bronzer Kit: I have had this kit since February, and use it often. I like this kit because the dark shades are matte. They aren’t shimmery or glittery and I love the bronzed look it provides. Here, I used this on my cheekbones, nose and a little dusting on the jaw line. I put this on with the Bobbi Brown Powder Brush for a natural look. I put the middle shade on the apple of my cheeks and sweep up for a softer shimmer. Since I don’t put on blush everyday, this gives a little glow on the cheeks. It’s a great, versatile kit!
.03 Bobbi Brown Powder Brush: I use this guy for just about everything. Loose powder, blush, bronzer, you name it. It’s a great brush and worth the price. I haven’t had to deal with any loose bristles…(yeah!). You can read more about this in my tutorial here.
.04 BareMinerals Well Rested Eye Concealer & Brightener: I just posted a little review about this product here but I will continue to tell you how this product works (and how amazing it is!). This eye concealer can be used under the eyes or on top of the eyelid. I like this because it has a cooling effect and caffeine to help the eyes look and feel more awake. It also helps my eyeshadow stay on and not crease!
.05 Bobbi Brown All Day Cream Eyeshadow: Ok, if you would have asked me a year a go to try a cream eyeshadow I would have laughed in your face. Not really, but I would have politely turned you down. For the longest time, I have been anti cream eyeshadow. Why? Well in my experience, they all seem to crease in a matter of 10 minutes and if you are outside for more than a hour forget it. However, that has all changed! My newest obsession is the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Eyeshadow Stick in Sunlight Gold. You guys, this does not crease at all. I love this because it’s easy and the color is very soft, natural and gives a little shimmer. It’s perfect for the girl on the go or someone who is looking for a subtle shimmer under their brow on on their eyelid.
.06 Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay Body Cream: Have you tried any Jo Malone products before? They can be pricey, but man do they smell nice. I love the Blackberry and Bay collection. It’s light and has a little floral, fruit smell. It’s perfect for the summer and leaves my legs and arms feeling very soft.
.07 Kiehls #1 Lip Balm: This is a great lip balm for those who are outside a lot or if you go to the beach. It has a little SPF but t makes my lips feel so soft. It also works great as a base for my lipstick or lipgloss.
.08 Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara: I always talk about this mascara, but it really is amazing. I usually can’t get long lashes and this product seems to do the trick. It doesn’t flake or smudge either! You can read more about this mascara in my review here.
.09 Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes: As you can tell, I use this product a lot. This is my favorite eyeliner pencil. It’s waterproof and goes on so smooth. To me, that’s what makes this product stick out over the rest. I use this for my waterline ( the inside part of my lower lashline) and on top of my eyelid. This eyeliner is guaranteed to stay on all day!
.10 NARS Lipgloss in Turkish Delight: This is a great everyday color. It’s a soft pink that can be worn alone, or mixed with any shade. In the picture above I am actually wearing the NARS Lipgloss in Angelika but here is a picture of me wearing the Turkish Delight.

Great tip to grow out your brows with Castor Oil. Your brows look great so it’s obviously working for you. Do you apply it nightly?
