While we tend to think of Summer as a time to invest in a new pair of sunglasses, I couldn’t help but search for a new pair just in time for Fall. Sunglasses have always been a favorite accessory of mine and I recently set out to find a new pair in a brown/burgundy tone.
Having a round face myself, I find the best shapes to lean towards are those with rectangular lenses; this offers structure and will refine your look. I found these frames by Chloe at Nordstrom and I couldn’t pass up the color and oversized fit. After reading reviews, they seem to be appropriate for most face shapes. I also saw this version for under $100 and they had a very similar fit & frame style.
Sunglasses can be a great investment, especially if you opt for a classic pair, rather than something super trendy. I’ve had my ray-bans for 3 years and the aviator frame is still going strong. Another pair that I often hear great things about is this Cat Eye frame from Tory Burch. I love the beige tortoise color!

I have a Kate Spade pair I splurged on at the end of the Nordy’s summer sale in 2007 that is still in impeccable condition. It was my first pair of ‘good’ sunglasses. The style is SERIOUSLY out of commission, but I think the name of it was ‘heidi’…don’t take my word on that, though. However the sunnies are oversized, tortoiseshell frame, and perfect for a face thape that is–I guess I would describe it as a rounder, more circular oval.
Maybe that’s a wonky description. I don’t know. My words are so inexact this morning. Sorry. Regardless, though: I love getting new sunnies. And I always want more and more pairs. I am insatiable that way!

I seem to have developed a serious sunglasses addiction over the summer. While I LOVE high-end ones, I stick to lower end “dupes” because I tend to lose them (case in point, I left a pair o n a cruise ship this summer), and I don’t want to put a ton of thought into keeping up with them. Losing a $300+ pair of sunnies would make me cry! lol. My fave shape is round and aviator.

I always have the hardest time finding sunglasses! I ended up going the entire summer without any, just because I couldn’t bite the bullet and get a new pair. After walking into Warby Parker 7 or 8 times over the entire summer, I finally in September (just in time for summer weather to be over of course) bought the “Madison” frames from Warby Parker and I absolutely love them. Warby Parker has great warranties against damage and for repairs also!
