With Valentine’s Day just a few weeks away, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite gifting ideas for him or her. I know how tricky it can to find the perfect gift, so I reviewed some of my recent buys that could be a great option for you (or him).
Austin and I always laugh about Valentine’s Day (and maybe you can relate) because in college I always tried to “make” his gift. Because every college guy wants a stuffed bear or a photo collage right? Well, I remember buying him a stuffed Koala (it was an inside joke) and I painted a heart on it’s tummy and wrote “Be Mine” on the heart. I also included a photo of us with an obnoxious amount of heart stickers that went around the frame and all over the card. Subtle right? I knew he was a keeper when he kept it on his desk in a house full of other boys. Ha!
We always laugh about those gifts, but love looking back on those memories. We still have those hand made gifts saved in our memory box! To this day, I always try to make him a little something in addition to his actual gift. I guess it brings out the inner 1st grade teacher in me!
Below are a few of my favorite practical gifts. I included items at all price points, but for more options, be sure to check out this Valentine’s Gift Shop at Nordstrom.
Happy shopping and thanks so much for stopping by! xx
I got Austin this Burberry Round Leather Watch for Christmas, but I know it would make a pretty nice Valentine’s gift as well. He loves this watch! It’s definitely a splurge, but it’s a classic timepiece that I know he will always have (plus it didn’t hurt that I had a few gift cards to put towards it). I notice he wears it with just about everything and he has told me many times that it’s his favorite watch. I couldn’t share this gift guide without including this gem.
If your man has a beard, you must get him this beard kit. If you follow me on snapchat (the teacher diva), you have seen that Austin has quite the beard and he has told me many times that he needs wax and bear oil to keep it looking good. I just laugh, but apparently this is a real thing! He’s been asking for more products and highly recommend this kit by Beardbrand.
This Dior Homme cologne smells petty amazing. I actually received a sample of this after purchasing another beauty product and knew I had to get this for Austin. He’s a simple man and only wants one bottle at a time (so different then us girls right?), so when he gets one, it has to be just right. Trust me- it’s good!
For the girl on the go, I highly recommend this glass water bottle from Kate Spade. I have been on the hunt for a glass bottle that I could take to the gym or keep at my desk. I love this pink version. Kate Spade always knows how to make the cutest stuff, right?
If you’re looking for something practical, this Robinson Zip Coin Case from Tory Burch is always a favorite. I’ve had my magenta one for years, and after using it daily, I decided to get another one for my business cards. This is perfect for cards, coins or even used as a small wallet. If you’re not loving the pink, check out the brown leather coin case.
These Ray-Ban Aviators are always a great gift. I love the classic color, but these Fuchsia Mirrored Aviators are a fun option for the Spring and Summer. In my opinion, this style is timeless. You can’t go wrong with a nice pair of aviators!
If you’re looking for jewelry, I have always been a fan of Gorjana. The Taner Bar Necklace has been a favorite of mine for years. I love the minimal vibe, and it’s a great piece to wear along or layered with another necklace.
I don’t know why, but I always correlate Valentine’s Day with perfume and chocolates. Funny thing is I’ve never receieved perfume for Valentine’s Day, but it’s always the first thing that comes to my mind! So a few of my favorite brands include Jo Malone (I love Wood Sage and Sea Salt & Lime Basil Mandarin) and Grace by Philosophy. I also received this bath oil as a gift and I am in love (a little goes a long way)! If you take baths, you will love this. It smells amazing!
If you’re looking to splurge this season, I recommend a pair of Valentino Rockstud Pumps (similar pair under $100). My husband got me these a couple years ago for Valentine’s Day / Birthday and I have loved them ever since. They truly are a statement piece and I always get compliments when I wear them. I dress them up or down and I find that they are more versatile that I expected. I recommend going up a 1/2 size in the Valentinos.
You can’t go wrong with a Nordstrom Gift Card. After all, it ensures your person gets exactly what they wanted while still showing you made the effort to get them the perfect gift. The Love Card is perfect for Valentine’s Day and Nordstrom is now donating 1% of every Gift Card sale to local nonprofit organizations that are making a tremendous difference in the communities they serve. Such a cool idea!
