Hi everyone! Now that August is here, we are just a couple weeks away from students and teachers going back to school. Not to cause panic for all my teacher friends out there (I love you!), but I have received quite a few emails from readers wanting to see BTS outfit suggestions, my classroom photos and my favorite planners for the new school year.
I’ve realized that I have a lot of new readers (thank you for being here!), and many who aren’t sure if I’m heading back to the classroom. I know, my brand “The Teacher Diva” is a little confusing. But don’t worry, exciting changes are coming! With that, I wanted to share a few links to older posts to help answer any of those questions.
Last August, I wrote this post sharing how I was taking my blog and business on full time. It has been an exciting and challenging journey, however, I do still miss interacting with my students and coworkers at school. I get to see my old team and teacher friends a couple times a month and I love hearing about the things they are doing in their classroom. I also hear from a handful of students through email and that is so special to me! Teachers our there, you know what I’m talking about. Even though my blog isn’t dedicated to “teachers” nor am I in the classroom this year, I do like to share a few posts here and there with photos from my previous classrooms or talking about my experiences. After all, that was a huge part of my life!
Ever since I was a kid, I can remember going back to school shopping with my Mom and Dad. It was such an exciting time getting to pick out a backpack, new shoes and of course my “First Day of School Outfit”. My old team and I were talking over the weekend and laughed about how we still get excited picking a new first day outfit. I pulled together some resources and found a few pieces that would be ideal for any office or classroom setting as well as items you can mix and match with other clothing you may already own.
For more “Wear To Work” inspiration, be sure to look on my right sidebar and find “The Teacher Diva” topic. I will have links to workwear, old classroom pictures, and budget fashion. This category won’t necessarily be limited to “Teachers”, but rather a place for the working girl to find inspiration. This was a suggestion by several readers, so I am happy to put it in action!
Thanks for stopping by and feel free to reach out with any questions or comments! xx Ashley

I taught for many years myself. I think it is very sweet and kind that you still dedicated a post to “back to school” even though you are not in the classroom. The planner is simply adorable. I too agree that the foundation is a great one, especially for a teacher!

Your classroom was so adorable! They were some lucky kids to have you as a teacher, and such a bright, creative environment.
