You might be considered one of the lucky ones, but most of us weren’t born with supermodel legs. However, there are a few ways we can fake the appearance of long, lean legs. You’d be surprised what a few simple tricks can do for your legs. Here are a few things to keep in mind when striving for longer stems:
-
Match Your Shoes to Your Pants
This may seem obvious, but matching your shoes to your pants is the number one way to give some length to your legs. This creates a seamless line on the leg, while giving a lengthening effect. Especially if your ankle and tops of your feet are covered! If you are going out in a dress or skirt, try finding a shoe that matches you skin tone. While it’s fun to wear a pop of color, a nude pump always works best for me when showing some skin.
-
Keep it Dark
Sticking with a dark color on the bottom will also have a slimming effect. I like to wear my high waist black leggings (these are very slimming) and over the knee boots. The tall boots automatically create a longer line and will instantly add length to your legs. If heels aren’t your thing, you can still get the look with a flat pointed toe boot.
-
Think Vertical Patterns
It’s no secret that vertical stripes can make us look thinner and taller. Whether you stick with something monochromatic, like this grey turtleneck or bold like this striped top, make sure the stripes are vertical.
