Over Spring Break, a few of my favorite teachers and I went to Denver for a little girls trip. We had so much fun laughing, catching up and sharing stories from when we all worked together. Those kinds of trips are not only fun, but good for the soul am I right?
This was my second trip to Denver, and though our time was short, we made sure to pack it full of activities. It’s such a beautiful city and has a little bit of everything. Whether you want to eat, drink, shop or hike, there is something for everyone. I’ve listed a few of our favorite places to visit while in Denver. Enjoy! xx Ashley
PS: Austin and I are thinking about making a trip back to Denver this Fall so please let me know if you have any new suggestions!
FAVORITE SPOTS IN DENVER
LINGER
This is such a fun place for dinner or happy hour. I highly recommend making reservations if you are looking to eat here for dinner. It gets very busy! The rooftop is fun spot to enjoy some appetizers or drinks. It’s a beautiful view of the city.
UNION STATION
This is the most beautiful building. The inside has marble tables, gold accents and picture perfect details. It’s definitely a must see if you are new to Denver. And, t’s the perfect spot to grab a coffee or meal. There are several great restaurants located inside.
DENVER BISCUIT CO.
We went here for breakfast and loved it. I personally like more of a “simple” biscuit, so I would recommend the Three Run Double. The French Toast was also great, but very sweet. I liked the Three Run Double better 🙂
COMIDA (The Source)
We went here for Happy Hour. The Watermelon Jalapeño Margarita was fantastic!
OSTERIA MARCO
This Italian restaurant is so cute! The pizza is simply amazing. This is the perfect spot for a date night or girls night out.
SNOOZE
My favorite brunch spot- they have THE BEST pancakes (I’m sad I didn’t take any photos but if you saw my snapchat, you know how big the pancakes are). Plus you get a free cup of coffee while you wait. We went to the Snooze located in Union Station. I don’t think they take reservations, so expect to have a small wait.
AVANTI
Think food tricks, but inside one central location. We actually went here twice in three days! They also have a great rooftop with lots of seating for large groups. I personally loved the fries from Regional and the sandwiches at Quiero Aerpas. There are so many great options for dining and drinks at Avanti.
CHERRY CREEK SHOPPING CENTER
We didn’t spend much time here, but I would suggest visiting this mall if you are looking to do some shopping!
BLACK EYE COFFEE
I loved eating here for breakfast. This is a trendy coffee spot that also has a full menu. The food was actually really good! We went to the Cap Hill location and loved the ambience.
MT. FALCON PARK (TOWER TRAIL)
We hiked this trail when we were here last year, and it is gorgeous. It was pretty easy and not too difficult. It’s a great spot if you are looking to spend some time outdoors.
ROOT DOWN
We ate dinner here on our last night. This organic, farm to table spot was quite delicious. I would suggest making reservations, this place fills up fast!
LITTLE MAN ICE CREAM
You know I couldn’t make this post without throwing in a dessert option! This popular ice cream spot is located right below Linger. And as you can see, the ice cream list is quite creative and full of flavor. They are known to switch up their flavors, so you never know what they could be serving. Shoutout to my friend, Haley for telling us about this gem!

What a fun trip! My fiance and his groomsmen are doing his bachelor party weekend in Denver and Boulder, but they’re going to be more focused on brewery tours.
If you and Austin DO go back, I can’t recommend enough a great restaurant (with awesome cooked beef, cooked fish, and sushi menu items) downtown called Tag. When I was in Denver in 2010 for a conference, this was one of my favorite restaurants (and obviously memorable…it’s been so many years now!!!). At least then, there was a sushi item that had pop rocks on it. I don’t know if it’s still on their menu. But from what I remember, EVERYTHING I had there was so great, and it’s just got nice decor inside and is a fun restaurant for food & drinks!!

You should visit the Cooper Lounge located at the top of Union Station. It makes me feel like I have stepped into the Great Gatsby. I am a Denver native and I enjoy trying all of the new restaurants that are opening downtown.

I have a ton of recommendations since this is my backyard, but I’ll stick to one recommendation in each category.
Brunch: Sassafras – fantastic cajun/creole brunch with a highly instagrammable & delicious mimosa flight.
Coffee: Bellwether – coffee shop that also has a barber shop, venue, whiskey, and clothing sold there! The décor is to die for.
Beer: First Draft – if anyone on your trip likes beer, this place has 20+ taps and it uses this really cool pour your own ounces system so that you can try quite a bit without being committed to too much.

These are great, Christine! Thanks for sharing. xx Ashley

This post is really useful because just a few weeks back I was researching the continent and was pretty lost about Denver. Would love to try their food.
