We love a good pair of sneakers. You all know that our outfits lean more on the classic and causal side. And while we don’t mind getting dressed up, we are most comfortable in our favorite denim and sneakers.  

If you are also a fan of sneakers, you may want to get familiar with the brand, Greats. This was a newer brand for us, but quickly became a favorite. The Brooklyn-based company initially started out as a men’s footwear brand, but has since expanded into women’s shoes.  And let me just say- we’re obsessed.

HOW WE STYLE OUR SNEAKERS

FOR HER.

I love wearing sneakers with boyfriend jeans, shorts or a t-shirt dress. I find it to be the perfect combo for an “off duty” look. I know a few of you might find the pink color to be intimidating, but I like to treat it like a neutral. This blush color is subtle, which makes it easy to tie in with other colors or monochromatic looks. Tie a jacket around your waist and you’re good to go.

I’ve never owned a pair of leather lace up sneakers and I honestly wasn’t sure how I would feel about them. But they really did surpass my expectations (I’m actually wearing them now as I write this).  I also have my eye on The Wooster slip-on style. This easy-to-wear style is perfect for the girl on the go. Perforated Blanco is my favorite color!

FOR HIM.

Hey guys, Austin here. There’s few things that I’m picky about, but one of them is shoes. I’m not picky in the sense that I need every color and style. I’m picky because I want the shoe to be versatile enough to wear almost everyday. Every day, when I need to decide what pair of shoes to wear for the day, I just don’t like to think too much about it. Maybe that’s because I’m probably running late and that’s the last thing I have time to think about.

Few shoes fit this requirement for me. There’s been plenty of occasions where I buy some shoes thinking they would work.  But I end up talking myself out of them a few days later and they end up sitting in my closet.

When Ashley showed me the Greats Men’s Collection, I was skeptical at first. I liked the style, but like I said, I’m picky. When they arrived, I tried them on and my skepticism was quickly gone. I really liked them.

 The first thing I noticed was the style. I’m pretty simple when it comes to shoe style and these worked well for me. They weren’t too crazy, but I also didn’t feel like a dorky dad.  They work with a lot of stuff – dark jeans, light jeans, shorts.  That’s a big plus for me.

The second thing I noticed about them was the quality. Unlike most sneakers, the inside part of the shoe feels almost like a suede. The outside of the shoes isn’t flimsy at all. But, not in an uncomfortable way. They just feel well made.

And the third thing was comfort. I wore these brand new shoes to Disneyland last week. It’s normally a bad idea to wear a brand new pair of unbroken shoes to an amusement park where you’ll be walking all day. However, I had no problems with these at all. I’ve been wearing them almost every day since and love them.
