Have you ever tried wearing a dress with sneakers? I personally love the laid-back vibe and ease of pairing a comfortable dress with sneakers. It’s ideal for the girl on the go and perfect for long days on your feet.
I picked up this Joie Plaid Dress (on sale) a few weeks ago with the intent of wearing it with these booties come fall. However, my my mind changed when I paired it with these $24 Neutral Slip-On Sneakers. The booties will be a great fall option, but I love the idea of rolling up the sleeves and getting some wear out of this dress now.
If you’re reluctant to try sneakers with a dress, I would suggest keeping these 3 tips in mind.
HOW TO STYLE SNEAKERS WITH A DRESS:
- GO NEUTRAL: I like that these are close to my skin color. In a way, they elongate my legs and create a slimmer effect. I always reach for these neutral kicks when wearing a dress or shorts.
- STAY MINIMAL: Slip-on sneakers are ideal for wearing with your favorite jeans, leggings or even dresses. I find the minimal design to be more feminine and versatile. They also make for a great travel shoe.
- ADD A DENIM JACKET: When in doubt, throw on a denim jacket or tie one around your waist. This will automatically give your dress a more causal feel and your sneakers will fit right in.
