The first day of fall is officially on Friday and I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty darn excited about it. If you’ve seen Austin’s instagram-stories, you know what I’m talking about.
What better way to ease into fall than to start browsing new footwear. Leave it to Nordstrom to carry the top trends and classic styles we all know and love. I’ve narrowed them down to my 5 favorite shoe styles to try this fall. What styles are catching your eye? xx Ashley
5 Shoe Trends You’ll Want to Try This Season
THE STACKED HEEL
original outfit post
I purchased the Louise et Cie Jianna Stacked Heel Pump (fit: TTS) during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and it has been one of my favorite purchases to date. Velvet is trending in a big way this season but what really sold me was the stacked heel. Thank goodness for the stacked heel, right? Not only does it make these shoes easier to walk in but they are actually comfortable too. Talk about a win-win. Here are a few stacked heels that I am eyeing this season:
LEOPARD PRINT
original outfit post
Ah, behold the leopard print bootie. You know I was on the fence about these at first, but they have quickly grown on me. And it doesn’t stop there! Leopard print is an unlikely neutral, but you’ll be surprised at how well these can coordinate with your everyday basics. Here, I’m sporting the Vince Camuto Destiny 2 Genuine Hair Bootie, but I’m sharing a few other leopard print shoes that I am loving below:
FLAT MULES
original outfit post
These Kristin Cavallari Capri Mules are another Nordstrom Anniversary Sale find. I personally love mules and find them versatile for many occasions. Many of you have mentioned you like to wear mules because they are office appropriate and comfortable. I know my teacher friends can agree with that! Below are a few more styles if you are in the market for a new pair:
OVER THE KNEE BOOTS
original outfit post
Over the Knee Boots are not a new thing, but I will say it’s a style I plan to wear again and again this season. My Marc Fisher LTD Yenna Over the Knee Boots (fit: TTS, very comfortable) are from last season and are still a favorite style of mine. I like to wear my OTK boots with skirts, denim, leggings or dresses. In my opinion, they are an essential to my fall and winter wardrobe! See more options below:
STATEMENT ANKLE BOOTS
original outfit post (coming soon!)
If you’re like me, you probably have plenty of “basics” in your closet. And my guess is you may want to spice things up with some statement ankle boots. The statement boots below capture a bright and playful essence, but will still look great through fall and winter. And if you’re intimidated by a bold boot, try these Marc Fisher LTD Harper Pointy Toe Booties. They are equally fabulous!
Those shoes look gorgeous! One of the things I love most about a new season is the shoes, ha! These look amazing!
I hope you’re having a great Wednesday!

Hi Michael,
Thank you so much for your comment and kind words! I agree, I love a good pair of Fall shoes! xx, Ashley
I love that shoes aren’t sky high this year. Some of us don’t dig that.
But I love leopard print. I have a pair of leopard flats, I love to pull out.

Where’s your top from?
Hello! I have the original outfit post linked below each shoe trend. I hope that helps! Xx ashley
I love the flat mules, but I can’t seem to find a pair that I like. And, would you consider a pair of the rose colored ones a fall shoe? I really like them but I’m not sure…Thanks:)
Hey Alana,
Thank you for your question! I think wearing a rose colored mule is fine even during Fall time as long as it has a Fall texture like velvet or suede! Hope you that helps. xx, Ashley
I’m geeking out over those first velvet stacked heels. They’re so perfect!! Stumbled upon your blog through an internet blackhole of links, and I’m glad I did! Your photos are so so beautiful and chic!
