What to Wear to a Casual Thanksgiving Dinner

With Thanksgiving a couple weeks away, Austin and I are busy planning for the holiday. Whether you’re headed home to spend time with family or off to reunite with old friends, what you wear to Thanksgiving might seem a bit daunting. We’ve already received a few requests for holiday outfit ideas, and today, we’re sharing what we plan on wearing to our casual Thanksgiving dinner.

For us, Thanksgiving is the holiday where we do comfortable, easy going style. We also spend some time on the road between families, so comfort is key.

Fall is all about layers, and a striped button down blouse is the perfect starting point. This blouse has an oversized fit, while still allowing room for an extra helping of turkey or pumpkin pie. Hey—no judging here. I loved the color of this Herringbone Coat (size down). This is a classic combination you’ll be wearing all season long.

Austin really likes the idea of a quilted vest paired with a plaid collared shirt. He’s tried several vests in the past but never was a fan due to the extra bulk. This vest by Nordstrom Men’s Shop was the perfect compromise. It still does the job of keeping you warm and cozy, but doesn’t add unnecessary bulk.
