The Magic of Black Denim

Is there anything better than a slimming pair of denim? Ah—behold the magic of black jeans. There’s nothing quite like ’em.

Finding the perfect denim is very much a daunting task, but I bet it’s safe to say we all have that one pair we consider our  go-to “skinny jeans”.

For me, it’s the Mott & Bow High Rise Black Denim. It’s no secret that darker colors are known to create a slimming effect, but there’s something about the fit and style of these jeans that keep everything…well, pulled in. I guess you could say the high rise waist acts similar to Spanx. And what’s more versatile than a super slimming pair of black jeans? This pair is nice because there’s no fancy stitching or embroidery. Which allows plenty of opportunity to wear with many of the items already hanging in my closet. They are simple, yet get the job done.

I’m no stranger to denim, but somehow these remain my top choice for black skinnies. What do you look for in denim? xx Ashley

  3. A pair of great denim can make all the difference to an outfit! For me, while I don’t usually like wearing high rise denim, my go-to black jeans are the Citizens of Humanity Rocket Skinnies in Axel. They just keep everything slimmed and in place. Love it.
    Will have to keep my eye open for Mott & Bow!

    • Oh, most definitely a great pair of denim can escalate a simple outfit! I don’t think i’ve tried that exact pair, however i LOVE Citizens of Humanity denim. Thanks for the suggestion! I mean… if everything is slimmed and stays in places, what’s not to try?! xx, Ashley

  6. It’s frustrating when the dye from denim stains! Yes, rub the stain with a dry white towel first to get all the loose color. Then, slightly dampen the towel with a Tbls of white vinegar and repeat.
