It’s no secret I’m somewhat of a minimalist when it comes to jewelry. I have about 4 or 5 pieces that I rotate throughout the week, mixed in with a few that I consider my everyday staples. One of which is my newest addition, my oval signet pinky ring.
I’ve always loved wearing a pinky ring. After dropping several hints (like every good wife or girlfriend does), Austin surprised me for Christmas with this Oval Signet Pinky Ring. A simple oval shape with my monogram, was exactly what I wanted for everyday.
For me, jewelry is personal. And if I’m wearing it every day, I want it to tell a story.
My other everyday pieces include my signature “A” Necklace. This dainty piece was a gift from Austin on our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. I have taken it off maybe 5 times in the last 5 years. It’s a beautiful piece of jewelry that you can wear solo or paired with a statement necklace.
My love bracelet was a gift for my 30th birthday and our 5 year wedding anniversary (both in March). We also celebrated a significant accomplishment with TTD around that time, so it seemed right to remember it in that way.
And last—my thin gold thumb ring. This is probably the ring I get asked about most and it is a piece I have also had for nearly 5 years. I’ve tried many, but this is by far the best quality for whisper thin rings. They one I wear is the 1mm in a size 7.
On a side note, I have been hit with the flu this week. Luckily, we caught it early and it wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but man it’s not been fun. Besides feeling crummy, I think the hardest part has been to rest and be still. I am someone who likes the feeling of being busy and enjoys working (not my best quality, I know). I guess you could say this has been a challenge. This week I am reminded by Psalm 62:5, “Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.” In a way, I feel the Lord is reminding me to find balance in my life and take time to rest. This is a tough area for me. How do you find time to be still?
Have a great rest of your week. Ashley
