To me, there’s no better combo than blazers and jeans. When I was teaching, I lived in blazers, and they just weren’t a style I was willing to give up even after I left that career. I started pairing them with jeans instead of trousers, and still find myself shopping for them often. They’re such a transitional item, and I’ve found that they’re pretty easy to dress up or down depending on the occasion.
Since I end up wearing this combo at least once a week, I wanted to pull together a bunch of my blazer and denim looks. I know a lot of you have asked for more work-to-play outfits, so I hope you like this idea!
A Casual Edgy Look
First up, an outfit that I love for weekends or a casual meeting. We’ve really seen plaid blazers take off over the past few months, and it’s been a fresh take on my usual solid blazers. I personally love layering a graphic t-shirt to add a bit of edge under the plaid, and think this is a cool look.

Dressed Up with Heels
For when I want to dress up a blazer, I love going with ankle strap heels. This look feels feminine, but powerful at the same time. It’d easily transition to a date night look, too!

For Spring and Summer
For spring or summer, I think a white blazer looks super refreshing. You’ll notice that I usually loosely tuck in my shirt, especially with a more oversized blazer like this. It’s a nice way to create a waist without things looking too polished.

A Little Girly
Even though my style isn’t overly feminine, I do love a punch of pink here and there! Who doesn’t?! This jacket looks good with black shoes, but I’ve styled it with nude too, which looks just as cute.

Effortless + Chic
This has to be one of my favorite outfits of 2017. I’m a neutral girl, and if you are too, consider marigold to step a bit outside your box. Denim and a blazer paired with pointed-toed slingbacks is a good balance for meetings or even drinks with the girls. I’d swap in a lace cami underneath for a date with Austin.

Everyday Style
This is one of my most worn combos—a neutral blazer, denim, and booties. I wear a combination of this style all the time and find it wearable to most occasions. From working at a coffee shop to running around town or brunch, it’s comfortable but pulled together at the same time. Which is what I’m all about!

I not only love how you’ve styled these blazers, I love how you make a point to include suggestions at all price points. That makes it possible to mix up some investment pieces with more budget friendly, trendier options. You’re beautiful!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind comment! Of course, not every blazer you own needs to be an investment, especially the more fun, bold ones that won’t be worn as often. So glad you enjoyed this post! Have a great weekend! xx, Ashley

I’ve been waiting for this post my whole life. I work at a “business casual, heavy on the casual” office and I’ve been looking for good “casual blazer” looks where I look cute and trendy with the blazer but not too dressed up to look out of place!
Great post!

I love your blog! Recently I’ve gone through a wordrobe transformation! I’m 49 and figured it’s a good time to change my style to a more mature and classy style. I’m also pregnant and was not looking forward to maternity wear!!!
So I really look up to you for modern classy stylish fashion advise without spending ridiculous amount of money to look classy and stylish! I love your style and try to mimic them every chance I get! The great thing about your blog is that your items are variable in cost. Some nice expensive classic items mixed with affordable items! Amazing how a nice blazer and shoes can really spruce up a casual pair of jeans and white tshirt! And you have taught me that being pregnant doesn’t mean I have to hide behind Boring maternity wear! Love love love your blog!!
