I’ve been wanting to try more natural, less toxic beauty products for a while now. Pretty much since reading this information actually, “The European Union has spent the past two decades restricting or banning approximately 1,400 harmful chemicals and ingredients from personal care products. In Canada, the number of restricted ingredients is a little less than half that, at around 600. The United States? 30.”
Being a teacher at heart, I love researching the facts – and I’ll be honest, that one kinda startled me. The thought of using such harsh chemicals every day just doesn’t sit right, you know? So, even though I haven’t made clean swaps with all my skincare and cosmetics (not even close yet), I have started experimenting. I brought these 5 natural products into my routine about two months ago, and gotta say, I’m really impressed so far!
If you’re curious about “cleaner” versions of your go-to products, I hope you enjoy this post! Also, if you have any other natural products that you love, please send them my way.
xx Ashley
LAWLESS BEAUTY SOFT MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK (IN ORDER FEAT. PRINCE, PARKER, JAKE, BRAD, CAMERON, AND LEO.)
The entire Lawless liquid lipstick line got such amazing reviews, I couldn’t wait to try. Not only are the colors all wearable and pretty, but the texture is great as well. They’re lightweight and moisturizing, all while giving a punch of whatever color you’re applying. They stay put, too! Lately, my go-to combo for the perfect neutral-pink has been ‘Alex’ and ‘Leo’ mixed together. These are nice for work or play, and I have a feeling I’ll be buying just about every color eventually.
ONE LOVE ORGANICS LOVE + CHARCOAL MASQUE
Since this masque is free of parabens, GMOs, silicon, and it’s vegan (among other things), I was excited to try. It’s actually one of the first natural masks I’ve ever tested. Have to say, it works just as well as non-natural products…maybe even better! I apply this mask after a long day of shooting or when my skin needs to detox. It seems to completely clear out pores while leaving skin soft and bright with a healthy glow.
FRENCH GIRL ORGANICS ROSE LIP POLISH (also reviewed here)
I’m a sucker for good branding and have always been intrigued by this French Girl line. I mean, how cute is that pot? This is actually my secret weapon to smooth lips and a good lipstick application. It’s usually a daily habit for me, and I might be addicted – it’s just that good. If you suffer from dry or uneven skin on your lips, this is a gentle fix. Plus, it smells wonderful!
ONE LOVE ORGANICS VITAMIN B ENZYME CLEANSING OIL
I thought the whole oil-cleansing trend sounded interesting, so I gave it a shot with this product (which by the way, I’ve heard good things about for years now). While oil cleansing does take time to get used to, it’s very much worth it. When it’s time to take off makeup, you actually apply this to dry skin and work to remove makeup by way of this oil. The idea is that this is less invasive than washing with regular face wash. After a couple months of using this product/technique, I’m honestly not sure I’ll ever go back. Between the papaya enzymes and Vitamin B complex, this stuff leaves my skin toned, hydrated and healthy. Plus, it’s loaded with antioxidants – something I’m trying to add to my skincare and diet.
TATA HARPER FACE RESURFACING MASK
I’ve heard about Tata Harper for years, but haven’t dabbled in the line until recently. I started with this mask (you guys know I’m obsessed with masks!). This is now a regular in my routine and one I’ll be replacing as soon as I run out. Like the name states, this mask is made to resurface skin through a gentle exfoliation process. It removes any dead, dry skin and leaves your complexion feeling all sorts of smooth. I like to use this 1x a week and notice my makeup applies much better after getting consistent.
TRUE BOTANICALS VITAMIN C BOOSTER + RENEW CELLULAR REPAIR SERUM
ROSE QUARTZ JADE ROLLER
OK, not sure how I ever lived without this line! I will say, it’s somewhat of an investment. But as I’m getting older, I’m happy to prioritize my skincare since it’s such an important thing (at least to me). This line is very much worth the money, in my opinion. The Vitamin C booster can be mixed in with their serum to help with acne scars, sun spots, or any uneven skin. It truly has brightened my skin! I mix it in with my daytime serum, or at night with the same line’s Renew Cellular Repair Serum for an anti-aging punch. This serum actually improves the skin’s ability to retain moisture, all while working on lots of aging issues. After I apply both of those products at night, I use the rose quartz jade roller. The roller helps to let the products settle into my skin, plus the jade helps with inflammation, aging, and overall skin rejuvenation. It feels like a little face massage, too!

So glad you are bringing light to this topic. I made the official switch to clean skincare and beauty last year. I love it! I know it isn’t easy, but I am glad I made the switch. Tata Harper and OLO are two of my favorite clean brands. I have not tried Lawless Lipsticks but I always see you posting about them haha. I want to give them a try! 🙂

Hi Michelle,
I just started to try the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum, but I don’t have any solid feedback on this product quite yet! That’s all I have tried that is all natural so far. Do you have any recommendations for natural products? I’d love to try more! xx, Ashley

Thanks for the recommendations. I’m a big believer in natural beauty products. Too many harsh chemicals are found in a lot of products.
