Last month, my mom and I traveled to upstate New York for an incredible experience at Camp MacKenzie-Childs. This was my second trip to MCHQ and couldn’t wait to take my mom, Yvette, with me this time around. She and I both adore all things MacKenzie-Childs so I knew she would love being a part of this opportunity.
On our trip, we were joined by a few other content creators and their moms. At one point on the trip, we all laughed and said it felt like we were teenagers having a big sleepover. It was such a fun time!
During our time in Aurora, New York, we went to a flower arrangement class hosted by Janice from Fig and Twigs where we used the MacKenzie-Childs Peony Watering Can as our vase. How beautiful is that watering can? My mom always goes above and beyond during the holidays with her arrangements, so she particularly enjoyed this activity. We also got a chance to tour the beautiful MacKenzie-Childs Headquarters. This was special considering how much we enjoy the brand and it is always so neat getting to see and hear how the product is made. Did you know every piece of MacKenzie-Childs ceramic is touched by hand with different artisans making their mark on the piece, including their ‘stamp’ on the back of the piece. My favorite collection is still the Sweetbriar, but I also love the classic feel of Courtly Check. It was my mom’s favorite too!
We also got a preview of the new holiday collection that will be launching in August. If you saw my Instagram stories, you know what I am talking about. And yes, it’s going to be good.
This entire week was truly special. Though mom and I live near one another, it’s not often we get to travel with each other and spend this kind of quality time together. Even if it did mean she borrowed half of my stuff and wanted to share embarrassing stories from childhood — I will never forget this trip!
