With the holidays quickly approaching, Austin and I are thrilled to host our first houseguests this season. One of our favorite things to do is welcome our friends and family into our home. And what better time than the holidays, right?
Though our home isn’t finished just yet, the laundry room is one of the finished rooms that we are excited to share with you. We are thrilled with how it turned out. And with the help of The Laundress, we are sharing 5 easy ways to get your house ready for holiday guests this season. Also, be sure to use the code ASHLEY to save 30% off your entire purchase.

1. DON’T FORGET FRESH TOWELS + LINENS
Before guests arrive, make up their beds with a fresh set of sheets and set out towels and washcloths for each guest. I personally love to wash our sheets with The Laundress Le Labo Santal 33 Laundry Detergent (Le Labo is not included in the 30% off promo). It smells heavenly! Most travelers like to freshen up immediately upon arrival, so it’s a good idea to prepare those in advance. If you are wanting to give your towels an extra scrub, I suggest using The Laundress All-Purpose Bleach Alternative. It’s nontoxic, biodegradable, fragrance-free and color safe so it works to safely remove dirt or stains from whites and colors alike. You can also use it to clean or deodorize your bathroom — it really is an all-purpose cleaner!
2. HAVE A SMALL SNACK BASKET READY TO GO
We always have a little snack basket or tray set out for our guests when they arrive. About a week before they arrive I’ll ask about any allergies or favorites so I can put together some yummy options. We always include a little note with the WiFi password too! We also like to leave a few water bottles on the nightstand — just like a hotel.
3. TIDY UP
I always give my house an extra scrub down before guests arrive. Lately, I have been using The Laundress Surface Cleaner since it’s safe to use on our countertops. It smells amazing and is eco-friendly. We’ve also used The Laundress Home Spray for years. We like it because it’s not overpowering but still adds scent while removing odor. It’s ideal for living rooms or any linens that need a quick freshen up.
4. PAMPER YOUR GUESTS WITH A LITTLE PRODUCT TRAY
In an effort to make our guests feel even more comfortable, I like to set out a few products for them to use on their skin. We all know the toll travel can take on our skin, not to mention the general stress of the holidays. A few sheet masks and eye masks will definitely give your guests a moment of relaxation. I love to put together a little product tray with sheet masks and The Laundress Aprés Laundry Cream & Hand Soap Duo. This duo smells amazing and leaves my hands feeling really soft. Providing your guests with their own toiletries is an awesome gesture that’s always appreciated.
5. FRESH FLOWERS
The last little touch for guests — fresh flowers. Putting a small arrangement in the guest bedroom or bathroom is a nice way to welcome your guests.
