Hey guys! It’s been a minute since I’ve shared home updates with you all. We have a video coming out this week sharing more of the process and answering a lot of the questions you guys have been asking. But in the meantime, I wanted to share a look at our guest bathroom. We are actually still working on it, but we have some guests coming to join us this month and I wanted to make it as “ready” as possible.
In my guest bath, I always have fresh towels (PS this is the best laundry detergent), some type of plant or flower arrangement and, my favorite, a little tray (also loved this one from the Nordstrom Home Department) of products for my guests to try. This is something I have always done and I love making keeping products handy in case they forget something or want to give their skin a little boost.
I put out these masks (Elemis Eye Mask – so hydrating, TULA Revitalizing Pads and my ultimate favorite, Joanna Vargas Sheet Mask) because they are all hydrating and usually skin tends to feel dry after a day of travel. This is just a little way for my guests to feel pampered.
So what’s next? Well, we still have some work to do but we ARE officially in the house. We’ve been living with my family all summer and while we are so incredibly thankful for that opportunity and convenience, we were also ready to get settled in our new home.
To be honest, the move hasn’t really gone as we’d hoped. We officially moved in a few weeks ago and it was right at that time was when Lucy started to get sick. Everything all happened so fast. With that being said, it really didn’t feel right to share the move while we were focused on her. It’s been a rough month. And it’s been hard getting excited about the house after we lost our precious girl right after moving in. But we are holding tight to the wonderful memories and know we loved her with everything we had. We have faith our home will be filled with happy memories soon.
As far as adjustments for the guest bathroom go, the countertops were damaged when installing so these will be swapped out hopefully before Christmas. We are also waiting for the light fixture to arrive. The floor tile is also needing some repairs and they should be coming out to fix that next week. We will also be adding some artwork either above the toilet or on the back wall, still deciding. All details will be shared soon and we can’t wait for you guys to see the final look.
xx Ashley

Ashley, you’ve done a wonderful job. It’s so inviting. I love the light fixtures – very unusual and look perfect with the mirror. Draw pulls are nice as well. You can tell each decision was made carefully. The tray with thoughtful items for a visitor is a nice touch. Can’t wait to see the other rooms!
