Although many women might tell you the last thing they want to wear while pregnant is jeans, I have to disagree. Being someone who wears denim all the time, I knew I wanted to find a few pairs that would be staples throughout my pregnancy. I tried several brands, styles and found 5 that I considered the most versatile, comfortable and ideal for those with growing bumps.

THE 5 BEST MATERNITY JEAN STYLES & BRANDS
No. 1 CROPPED FLARE JEANS
left outfit details // right outfit details
This might be my favorite pair. They are the “over the belly” style, which I wasn’t crazy about at first because I thought I’d want to always tuck in my tops, but quickly realized these were the most comfortable way to wear denim once the bump grew. I find the style and cut to be incredibly flattering and ideal to pair with sandals or sneakers.
SIZING: These run TTS I would get your normal size that you wore before pregnant.
No. 2 DISTRESSED BOYFRIEND JEANS
This is another style I wear pretty often. When searching for maternity jeans, I honestly had the hardest time finding styles that weren’t either “standard skinny jeans” or frumpy straight legs jeans. This boyfriend style looks great rolled up or worn as I did here. I will say, they stretched out a bit. I got my normal size, but wish I went down a size. Luckily, I threw them in the dryer and that helped, but I would suggest going down a size.
SIZING: Like I mentioned above these stretched out a little bit. I would size down from your normal size.
No. 3 UNDER THE BELLY SKINNY ANKLE JEANS
I wanted to find a basic pair of skinny jeans that I could wear with shirts tucked in. This pair, though pricey, was one of the best I tried. It’s a great fit if you want a true skinny jean. A lot of the styles I tried were “skinny” but were looser at the ankles in case you have swelling, these were not.
SIZING: These run were a bit snug and did not stretch out. I got my normal size, but if you are in-between sizes, I would go up.
No. 4 UNDER THE BELLY SKINNY DARK JEANS
Another great style that is a true “skinny-fit” but just a darker fade. DL1961 is a great brand and I have several non-maternity styles as well.
SIZING: These run were a bit snug and did not stretch out. I got my normal size, but If in-between sizes, I would go up.
No. 5 MATERNITY OVERALLS
These aren’t a “must” but they sure are fun. The price isn’t too bad either! I sized up to a medium and liked the fit.
