Since this is our first holiday with baby George, I couldn’t wait to plan out our holiday cards. I know the whole holiday card process can be daunting. Between organizing a time to take pictures, figuring out what to wear and finding the right photographer, it can certainly cause some stress. But it really is so special having those photos. Plus a great way to capture this significant milestone — our first holiday as a family of three!
When we were creating our cards, we used Pinterest and Vistaprint as tools for inspiration. I have a full Pinterest Board dedicated to holiday card inspiration. I’ve been pinning away the past few weeks gearing up for our photoshoot and based on what I was drawn to, it was obvious I liked a natural and classic vibe.
Vistaprint made it really easy to find a layout and color palette for our holiday card. They have hundreds of affordable options that will literally fit anyone’s style and taste. We played around with a few different cards and found some that we absolutely loved.
Pro Tip: Find your holiday card layout before your photoshoot. Show your photographer ahead of time and let them know this is the layout/cropping you are looking for. This communication will allow you plenty of options for your card. And eliminate the stress of not finding a photo that works.
Our card options came down to these three styles:
BLACK & WHITE: We loved the classic feel to this card. We opted for the 5X7 Premium Matte paper and Kraft Envelopes
MERRY CHRISTMAS FOIL: We had some fun customizing this one. I changed the text to say MERRY CHRISTMAS in Bakerville Roman and deleted the arrows and other text box. I wanted it to be very simple since we were doing the foil option. These are the 5×7 embossed gold foil standard flat holiday card.
ALWAYS JOYFUL: The font on this layout was too pretty to pass up. I knew we wanted a vertical option and this text placement worked really well with this card. We ordered the 5×7 in the Premium Matte paper with Black Envelopes
We plan to save our cards in a coffee table book so we can set it out each holiday. Over the years it will be so sweet to see how our family has grown and changed. Do you have any holiday traditions like this?

Send me a DM if you order some, I’d love to share your photo and give others some card inspo as well! x Ashley
