Today, we are heading down to Austin for our first little getaway since having George. We are so excited but leaving has been a little harder for me than I anticipated. Knowing he’s in good hands makes it a little easier though. Plus getting to sleep-in sounds amazing.
With the fall season underway, we are finding our schedule to fill up with more travel. Whether it’s for work or vacation, it’s going to be a busy next few months. And with the holidays coming up, I feel as though we are always packing up our bags and heading off to spend the weekend with our families.
It makes it so much easier for me to pack when I have an idea of what I’m going to take with me You know – like a checklist.
As a packing rule of thumb, I always pack 3-4 wardrobe staples and sprinkle in 1-2 trendy items. No matter where I’m going.
Generally, you will find these items in my bag on any trip. Especially now that it’s getting colder outside.
Travel-Friendly Basics For the Jet Setter
these wardrobe staples are comfortable and guaranteed to give you maximum outfit options when traveling
PANTS
The Colby Pant are part of the MM LaFleur packable suiting collection and they are truly a MUST if you travel. Honestly, they are great for anyone, but these pants do not wrinkle and they are incredibly comfortable. The material is light weight and takes up very little space in your luggage. Although, I personally recommend wearing them on the plane because they are so comfortable.
SHAWL
I tend to get chilly on planes. This shawl is incredibly soft and cozy. It also can double as a blanket. Win-win.
CARDIGAN
There are always two things I take with me on every single trip: a cardigan and a white tee. It never fails. This is truly my wardrobe staple when on the go! This one is from MM LaFleur (they have the best basics) and can be worn belted or open. The material is pretty warm too so it will be even better when the weather cools down.
SNEAKERS
I like to bring a pair of sneakers with me on a trip, usually, I end up wearing them traveling so they leave more room in my suitcase. This pair is comfy and looks good with denim, black pants or leggings. They are really versatile.
WHITE TEE
If you are heading somewhere and limited on space, a white tee (and maybe a Tide Pen) will be your best friend. For three effortless looks, I will wear mine alone with a statement belt, under a blazer or with a cardigan. Easy as that.
What do you always take with you on trips? xx Ashley
