There are many exciting things about finally being settled in the new house, but my favorite has to be watching it come to life during the holidays. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we are looking forward to hosting our family and friends.
As I started prepping for our table and menu, I couldn’t wait to use our new dishes from VIETRI. The dishes and serving platters from VIETRI are handcrafted and designed in Italy and I have have been so excited for them to arrive so we could start using them. We have pieces from the Lastra collection which were inspired by the overlapping wooden mold that was used for centuries to form Parmesan and other cheeses throughout Italy. They are truly incredible and perfect if you want to set them on open shelves or on display — they look like art!
Here, I’m using the Lastra European Dinner Plate with the Lastra Salad Plates and loved the organic feel it brought to our Thanksgiving table setting. And the best part is they are dishwasher and microwave safe. Win-win!
Since it is a festive time of the year, I wanted a hint of gold on the table. The Rufolo Glass collection had beautiful pieces to accent throughout the table. We used the Rufolo Glass Organic Small Bowls, the Rufolo Glass Gold Round Platter and the Antique Glass Votives. These votives are stunning and bring so much texture to the table. I would also suggest using them as a vase for small roses — it would look so simple and elegant.
We added different textures with greenery, velvet ribbon and dried flowers for the centerpiece and place cards. I love how everything turned out.
I can’t wait to fill our home with family and friends in the next few weeks! How are you celebrating Thanksgiving this year? xx Ashley
