Happy New Year, TTD fam. I am officially back in the office and gearing up for an incredible 2020. I love words and quotes that motivate and inspire (words of affirmation is my love language after all) and I’ve been pinning away on Pinterest during my time off and these words really stuck with me. I had to share them with you.
Last year, my friend Madeline inspired me to create a “word” of the year. Something to help keep me focused on my priorities and intentions.
this year my word is balance
Being a wife, becoming a new mom and going on year 8 of running my own business are truly my greatest blessings, but they can also leave me feeling stretched thin at times. Some of that is just “life”, but this year my focus is to create balance in all of those areas.
Whether that means setting my phone down while we’re on the couch watching TV, being more diligent about time blocking to stay on top work projects, or taking one night a month (or more hopefully) for Austin and I to go out just the two of us.
I need balance. Do you?
This year is a big year for us. We have some projects finally coming to fruition, plans for designing our guest room, a couple big trips and a collaboration with my dream brand (ahh!).
All that to say, I am looking forward to 2020. I wish you all the best this year and thank you for making TTD a part of your day. Whether you keep up via the blog, Instagram, newsletter, facebook group — you keep me motivated, encouraged and make me feel so grateful for this community.
The best is yet to come, you guys…Happy New Year!
xx Ashley

Happy new year! Love this word for 2020 – I can completely relate as a working mom. Some days you do great at everything and other days you barely make it and that’s OK.
