When we built our house, I knew I wanted a dedicated office space that felt not only organized but inspirational. My job obviously involves a lot of creativity, so while the functionality of it was key, so was the aesthetic. And while I still love my office, I did want to browse the internet for a few ways to spruce it up for 2021. Because couldn’t we all use a fresh start this year?
Keep reading for a few things I’ve bought + other items that didn’t necessarily fit my office, but might work well for yours! If you want a full breakdown of the office design and decor, head to this post.

OFFICE ESSENTIALS
PLANNERS, CALENDARS + JOURNALS: I love a good list and I love a motivational journal even more, so I treat myself to these at the start of the year. While this 5-Minute Journal isn’t necessarily business-focused, it’s something I use in my office each morning that helps kickstart my day. I also like their Productivity Planner for detailed tasks and time-batching. As for planners, there are a ton out there, including these below and Golden Coil, which makes beautiful, personalized options. If you like a larger view, how genius is this acrylic wall calendar with hooks and storage underneath? Perfect for smaller spaces!
STORAGE: I keep all my documents in a binder (I’m old school like that) and then for older documents, I like an elevated file. I also have these Amazon drawer organizers for random stuff like lip balm, cords, etc. If you want something that sits out on your desk, this concrete box is pretty, and I’m eyeing this magazine holder which would be nice for creative ruts.
TECH + DESKTOP ACCESSORIES: To be honest, I’m not careful about ergonomics but I want to get better at it this year. I’m thinking of ordering this laptop tray so that my computer is eye-level. As for a mouse pad, depending on your desk situation, a full desk pad might be a good option or this leather pad is another idea. I also think I need to invest in a multi-purpose charging station…which happens to be the most visually-pleasing I’ve seen. And then as far as pens, glasses, desk sets, and all that goes, I’m linking my favorites here, alongside the office candle I light as soon as I get to work:
