I always enjoy reading about people’s habits and tips for a successful day. I’m so nosey and find it pretty fascinating to learn what people do to be more productive, relax, etc. I wrote about the 10 things I do before 10 am a few months ago, and wanted to share a list of 5 things I do everyday. Not necessarily work related, but just things that set me up for a productive day.
What productive habits do you keep up with each day? xx Ashley
PRODUCTS I USE + LOVE
1. AM + PM SKIN ROUTINE
I’ve been pretty open about my struggle with acne over the past few years and I’ve learned that if I stray away from my skincare routine, it all hits the fan. I don’t have a super long routine, I actually have found that less is more for me. But I always start my morning with washing my face with a gentle cleanser, toner, a Vitamin C Serum (my derm recommended this over SkinCeuticals since I have sensitive/acne prone skin — I love it), and a gel moisturizer (this one is also really light and doesn’t clog pores). At night it’s pretty similar except I’ll use something that specifically helps with my acne instead of my Vitamin C serum. I like U Beauty, Soft Reset or sleeping in the Overnight Resurfacing Peel. Since those are considered “actives”, I don’t use all of those at the same time, I rotate a few nights each week.
2. MAKE LISTS (WORK + FAMILY)
I am a huge fan of lists (I linked a bunch of my favorite note pads here). I have to physically write things down for me to be more productive and lists help me visualize my goals each day. When I drink my morning coffee at my desk, I’ll usually take the first 15 minutes to write down my priorities for work and make a separate lists for things I need to do for George or Austin. Call me crazy, but I look forward to this ritual so much. If you like a chic notebook, I just got these black notebooks and they work great (really thick paper, faux leather cover and elastic band).
3. WAKE UP 30 MINUTES EARLIER THAN NEEDED
After having George, I quickly realized I need time for myself when the house is 100% quiet and I don’t have to talk to anyone. I’ve always been a morning person, so this isn’t something that is too hard for me (Austin on the other hand…). I usually strive to wake up between 6:00/6:30 each morning. During this time I’ll either make coffee and do 5MJ, read a short devotional, work out (when I’m not with my trainer, I love the Obe classes)… really anything I’m in the mood for. Having this time really lets me wake up, set intentions for the day, and enjoy some time to myself.
4. DRINK A TON OF WATER
I use my huge water jug to track my intake. Drinking more water is beneficial for skin, digestion, inflammation, etc. But it’s not something that comes easy for me. I have to make myself do it and this half gallon water bottle helps.
5. TAKE VITAMINS
I am a big fan of taking daily vitamins and collagen. I love Ritual Vitamins (they make a women’s multi and prenatal– 10% off with code ASHLEYR10) and take Glotrition Powdered Collagen. Both help with skin, hair and nails. I also love HUM Nutrition Glow Gummies. Last year I made it a goal to do this everyday and it’s pretty much become a habit at this point.

Been hearing people talk about how powdered collagen is absorbed at about 30% while liquid is significantly higher. Have you tried it and if so which one do you like?
Ashley Robertson says
I heard the same thing and reached out to a few brands about the research behind it. There is a lot of incorrect messaging coming from another collagen brand, stating that liquid is more bioavailable. According to Glotrition and Shore Magic (two of the most recognized brands in the clinical space), that’s false. Bioavailability has to do with the size of the collagen molecule, not the form, which is why Glotrition uses a patented Bioactive Collagen Peptide. It is “hydrolyzed”, or broken down via a patented process that makes it highly bioavailable. Hope that helps — AR
